That's it. Smith's prime is done. Drop him. He should retire now when he's on top and go down as the 3rd greatest batsman ever.

Surprisingly interesting series all things considered

In the movable object vs stoppable force battle; Wade's keeping made a late recovery leaving *****'s posting to be the worst thing in the series.

Would have been so good/worth it for Wade to get out cheaply before knocking off the final runs.

Take a bow Lyon, great work

Apart from some lacklustre batting on Day 3, impressive all-round performance by Australia. Warner & Lyon the obvious standouts this series but thought Cummins was excellent as well. The years of patience Australia put into him is being justified.

Overall it was not good preparation for SA series in SA for us. One turning pitch and the other quite flat. Whereas Australia seems ready for the Ashes as they have shown they can come back well.

It's a really common theme. The blokes at the top of the order just pile on the runs while the middle order and tail collapse afterwards. Concerning tbh

Riggins with an all too rare contribution here, but valuable as always.

Was a good series. Enjoyed it immensely. Bangers relying so much with bat and ball on one bloke hurts them, but I really like the look of Fizz. Hurries good players. Hopefully he develops the consistency necessary to bowl threatening spells all the time. The young bloke who batted eight in he second dig for whatever reason looks the real deal too. Tamil something of a myth tbh. One good knock all series.

Lyon motm, mots, Time's man of the year and arguably the most influential person of the decade.

Always how it's been in subcontinent, especially on the more helpful wickets (India, first Test here).

Whatever it takes!!!
Congrats Australia!!! Great series as a neutral and kudos to BD on drawing another series at home against one of the big 3.

Our tail should be v decent at home though. Starc/Pattinson/Cummins are all 20+ averaging tailenders.

I really like the look of a Handscomb and Maxwell lower order, as long as Maxwell doesn't manage to stuff it up.

That was a good series. It will be nice to get back to some bouncy wickets though. Feels like forever.

Although we probably should've won the series on paper, I'm not too disappointed with 1-1. Bangladesh are clearly a good side at home, and we at least played good cricket for most of the series.

Anyway, series ratings:

Warner 9.5 - hard to think what he could've done more, two tons is a very good result from him given I was willing to drop him after the first innings at Dhaka.
Renshaw 3 - one start, and little else. Not completely terrible though.
Khawaja 0 - ouch. Just looks bereft of confidence in alien conditions. Never play again in the subcontinent.
Smith 5 - his worst series since getting a recall. Was probably due a down series though, and at least made some starts rather than completely failing.
Handscomb 7 - dismissals were frustrating but looked very comfortable in the conditions. And at least he managed a key innings.
Maxwell 5 - made starts at least, but didn't convert any to a score of substance and his dismissals were worrying. Hard to tell whether he's truly the answer at 6 or not, but deserves the home season to find out.
Wade 2.5 - terrible with the bat. Wasn't great with the gloves either, though he did make some great stumpings at least. Should be dropped but I get the feeling that Australia rate his intangibles, so he'll be safe.
Agar 6 - solid. Proved a handy second banana to Lyon with the ball and he contributed with the bat, too. Will prove a handy option to have around the squad at least.
Cummins 8 - another very nice series. Bowled very well and made a key contribution with the bat. If he doesn't break down again he's gonna be scary in the Ashes.
Lyon 10 - simply immense. His last six months have been scary. Easily Australia's biggest threat with the ball and never looked far away from a bag.
Hazlewood 3.5 - middle of the road before getting injured. Weren't favourable conditions, though.
Cartwright 3 - made a start but got out at a bad time for Australia.
O'Keefe 3 - looked off-colour first-innings, a little better in the second innings. In his defence though, he came in rusty. Probably won't be seen again, though.

Tamin 6.5 - one excellent Test where his innings were the difference, one poor one. Still that's enough for a passing mark in a two-Test series.
Sarkar 3 - made a start, but like Renshaw didn't do much else. I don't rate him from what I've seen.
Kayes 1 - simply not good enough. Needs to be opening again, and probably on his last chance as a Test cricketer.
Sabbir 5 - one 50, and not much else. That 24 was one of the worst 24's I've ever seen.
Shakib 8.5 - dominant first Test, average second one. Still probably Bangladesh's best player in the series though.
Mushfiqur 6 - batted well, kept poorly. Got better as the series went on.
Nasir Hossain 4.5 - made some contributions, but nothing really significant. Think he's best served in the role that he played at Chittagong.
Mehidy 6 - like a few Bangladeshis he was good at Dhaka but off the boil at Chittagong. Overall a mixed series and gets a mixed kind of score.
Taijul 5 - the third wheel and didn't do all that much of note. Wasn't that bad though.
Shafiul 3 - did nothing of note. Was useless in the conditions.
Mustafizur 7 - very good second Test, but was quiet in the first (the inverse of a lot of his team-mates). Terribad with the bat too.
Mominul 5 - looked composed without making a huge contribution in his one Test. Why he was initially dropped I don't understand.

Nothing compared to England's. Their tail is ridiculously long, ridiculously good and ridiculously annoying!
