...we do #batdeep though. Hoping Cartwright can put something together.Aussies to fold, as always.
Gareth Batty was taking wickets here... an indication that it's not the easiest pitch to go big on.hmmm.. sounds like a consensus from the guys watching the game but DanJamson seems to think its a good enough score. A lot depends on the BD spinners now. And of course, The Chump and Warner for Australia. Wade gonna make a few and save his place and then drive the entirety of the CW Aussie community to despair during the Ashes.
He's changed his pace and has undercut the ball a lot more in Asia. Read an article he said he watched Ashwin and realised bowling ugly,non-spinning, round arm filth is the way to take wickets in Asia, whereas in Australia you actually need to think about it and put over spin on the ball.how good has Lyon been this year in Asia
Form of his life. Wonder if he'l be able to make an impact during the Ashes

I may have paraphrased that a bit.

pity he can't get an undercutHe's changed his pace and has undercut the ball a lot more in Asia.
UNdercuts are terrible tbf. Next thing you'll be advocating man buns.pity he can't get an undercut

Rubbish. He was awesome. Five gets you ten Ashwin and Jadeja don't take the wickets he did in India between them when they tour Australia. Finger spin is a terrible form of delivering the ball to a batsman (it's not really bowling tbh), it's just Lyon is the best going around at it.TBH, I dont think he was that impressive in India. I have not watched this series so cannot comment but in India, he was picking up wickets but never really seemed to be threatening to be a match winner. And the whole overspin Vs sidespin thingy is over rated. You need to be able to do both to a certain level to succeed in any kind of wicket. Its just that sidespin helps a lot more when the wickets are drier than on harder and truer wickets. If anything, I think Lyon's style can still do a job in the SC while Ashwin's style maybe totally unsuited for Aus and RSA wickets and some wickets in England.
Also, I think we have got some bloody fine finger spinners going around in world cricket today. People (Burgey) are just too harsh on some of the greatest current cricketers and one of the greatest art forms in all of cricket.

That's a great catch. Fantastic really. Terible ball, **** way to get out, strangled off a rank delivery.
TBF that's probably a safer bet from my POV than betting against Ashwin and Jadeja. But what sort of a bet is that? If you give ten on five that Umesh, Shami and the Indian seamers dont take the number of wickets in Aus that Lyon did in India, its actually reasonable.
