Arachnodouche

International Captain
It's gonna be funny when Lyon has more wickets than Dennis Lillee and some people still want to drop him for a batsman
People don't value him enough. He's a pleasure to watch when in rhythm on helpful wickets, far more so than, dare I say, Ashwin, even; has everything you could possibly look for in an orthodox offie.

When was Border and his cricket anything other than ugly, like ever?
1978 - debut series - makes 60 nout out and 40 not out in only his second test
1979 -80 - first test ton, cements place in post-WSC side
1980-81 - twin 150s in Pakistan
1982-83 - leads one of the great fight backs in test cricket at the MCG
1984 - 98* and 100* in the Windies
1985 - double ton at Lord's
1986 - The Lesser Tied Test - turned a bore draw into a thing of beauty with his captaincy and his batting
1987 - WC win as skipper, dominated with bat and then in the final with the ball
1988-89 - takes 11 wickets in a match vs the dominant side of his era
1989 - Ashes
1989-90 - continued Australia's rise with victories in home series.
1990-91 - Ashes again.
1992-93 - led Australia in one of the great series against the Windies.
1993-94 - fights out a tough draw in his last test innings.

Doesn't exactly sound ugly, nor was it ugly to watch, I can assure you. Compare that to Ashwin as an example. I know they both average 56 away from home, but that was Border's batting average, whereas it's Ashwin's bowling average.

What does Ashwin have to do with it? :p I love the laundry list of items you threw up there, Burgey, but given it was Border, they really do need a laundry, they are that ugly and dirty. :p

Let's hope these two put on another solid partnership. And after they do, let's hope the rest don't crumble in a heap once they're out again.

Look, we need this banter because let's be honest the cricket here isn't overly compelling atm

Edit: nah I think hb just wants to make sure he's meaning things in a light hearted way tbh, which can get missed in written form

Good #intent though

Surprised it's taken this long for Al Hasan to bowl.
