Thats really amazing, cure and theraphy depends on the nature of injury, one can't just put a player to rest in the hope that he will finally get better!
An example is Inzi, he got injured and had he opted for just rest or surgery, he would have made a come back after a year or two and would have missed the World cup!!Indeed corticoisteroids are life savers!

Yes but I ment that if they are over-used then they are damaging. If you keep playing with an injury it isn't going to get better. Rest and Rehabilitation are the best cures for injuries.

Frankly i don't think they are over used, some of them haven't played decent amount of cricket and yet are on the injured lists.England got to do something, if things doesn't get sorted out soon then England will have a very poor WC '03!

England seems to have planned on averaging one good day per test and everything is going according to plan:D:D:D. That will leave the final scoreline at 5-0 or thereabouts.:lol::lol:
Are the number of injuries also according to plans:lol::lol:

It's all very well mocking the injuries, but they all seem to be freak injuries and happen just when a player is finally looking to have settled at this level.

Jones looked our best quick.
Giles bowled as well as I'd seen him do so.
Crawley was looking in extremely good touch, and was possibly our best batsman.

The ironic thing is Australia play 4 bowlers every time, yet how often does one of them break down - when we pick 5, one (or more) is carrying or picks up a niggle!

Unfortunately for England, they lose again, it was on the cards, and what a shame it has been. From a viewers persepective I want to see a good tough fight and good competition in these matches, and at the end of Day 1 I thought even England could beat Australia, but it wasnt to be.

Its not often you see when your top batsman makes 177 and you still lose by an innings

England in both tests have only fought once and the next time just given up... this is just too one sided ... i know the injuries and all, but still the players who are there should make the most of it and put up a challenge

Its unfortunate in the sense that England is not even putting up a fight, they seems to have given up all hopes.
I disagree there, they are putting up a fight, but for some reason can be superb 1 day and awful the next!

For me the key point in this Test was Vaughan's dismissal at the end of the first day - had we closed 3 down for about 290, we could've pressed on on Day 2. Now I see Caddick is likely to miss the next game, so along comes Tudor? :(!:(!:(!

I say go with Silverwood seeing as it's at Perth.

Croft burned his bridges 12 months ago be pulling out of the India tour.

Out of interest then Chris, who would you pick to play on Friday as the 4 seamers (considering Flintoff and Caddick are almost certain to miss the game)

More bad news!

Paceman Andy Caddick has joined England's growing injury list and may be in doubt for the third test !Injured all-rounder Andrew Flintoff and left-arm spinner Ashley Giles are already out of the Perth test and fast bowler Darren Gough will miss the entire series
Fellow paceman Simon Jones is also out for the rest of the tour ,he may be out of the sport for up to 10 months.

Middle-order batsman John Crawley is in doubt for Perth with a thigh injury and opener Michael Vaughan remains on painkillers.

The perfect solution!

I am really sad at the poor state of England cricket, they struggle to get decent players into their team and when they succeed in it, the players struggle to play for a decent amount of time.Per match atleast two player are getting injured, this way they are never going to make it!
So whats the solution, in my opinion each cricket nation should donate one player to the English team. This way not only the quality of team will improve, but more inportantly the injury ratio will decline drastically as non-English players are less susceptible to injuries
I think the following players should play for England.

From India---- Vinod Kambli
From Pak------Mohd Akram
SL------Kaalu
Aus------Bracken/Law
NZ-----Franklin
Zim-----Johnson
Bang----Naeem ur-rehaman
WI---- Nixon Mclean

Seems like a good solution!

Latest report is he won't be fit till the West Indies tour in February 2004:(!:(!:(!

I for one am not worrying. This is a team which has performed well for 2 years and now they are playing the Aussies everyone thinks the squad should change. Well it may not be the class of the Aussie's but come on which other team in the world is? Normal service will be resumed against Zimbabwe and the only players I wouldn't mind seeing out of the squad are Dawson and maybe White if Flintoff actually becomes an effective bowler.

Hussain looks dejected after being bowled

Former Australian fast bowler Merv Hughes has called for England skipper Nasser Hussain to be immediately replaced after the tourists crashed to an innings defeat at Adelaide.

Hughes accused Hussain of "giving up" as Australia went 2-0 up in the Ashes series and urged England's selectors to find a new captain before next week's third Test in Perth.

"Nasser Hussain has fired all his shots and he is firing blanks.

"The England selectors would do well to think of a new England captain for Perth," Hughes told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek.
"In my mind, he just gave up. His field placings were as if he had a complete lack of interest of what was going on.

"They had no plan formulated to get Australian wickets and the Australian batsmen could do what they liked."

CaptainSaurav,
Good idea but thats not an immediate solution because for that they will have 2 wait for seven long years!!
