That wicket was inevitable

Australia swapped a makeshift opener for a pinch hitter. It kinda paid off in the last test but this experiment doesn't look like a good long term option just yet

What seems weird is that unlike yesterday I'm not sure the wicket is doing a hell lot. Maybe the fact that it's doing slightly less is making it trickier to bat but some of the shots seem completely unnecessary.

It's quicker than it was yesterday morning and it's still doing more than enough

Correction: they swapped a makeshift opener for a kid who'd only had one good game in his First Class career but was nevertheless a fairly traditional specialist opener, and then told him to be a pinch hitter anyway for some reason.
