Whatever it takes!!!
That's a really horrible shot though. Would see you mercilessly mocked if you did that in Australia or South Africa.
Yeah, coz you expect the ball to do that there, not here. Which is why it was a snorter. Its like getting out to a carrom ball that turns big in SENA. It is great because it is not the norm and not everyone can produce that.

I would have sent Pant in at 5. Need some momentum to be injected to this innings. England have bowled tight but apart from a couple that turned big from Leach and that snorter from Stokes, nothing has been so difficult to justify this run rate. Just seems like India premeditated playing very slow in the first session expecting England's bowlers to tire out later in the day. Which is fine but you gotta be able to switch strategies according to how the opposition plays.

Rahane is even more vulnerable to the pointless waft to a short ball a foot outside off than Kohli is. Stokes should be doing that 6 balls an over.
Unfortunately, I think you can bowl an over of full tosses and Rahane will still be vulnerable to those till he gets settled. :(

I am hoping the Vada Pav Bhaji combo can haul us to safety here though. Rohit looks determined.

why are his hands following the ball
it's batting 101
he himself spoke about the need for batsmen on both sides to improve their defensive games

Seriously, it's not that hard to win in India. All you need is to groom at least 2 spinners, which I presume is easier than grooming fast bowlers.
