The Wheel is Forever
We have next to no long format prep for IPL players. The players will have a few days off after IPL and then fly out to England and have around a week to prepare.

Hardly ideal, but I doubt NZ have much prep either.
I think they play a two Test series in England literally right before the WTC final.

Cricketer Of The Year
Not that it would've made much of a difference here but picking an extra batsman for a bowler is not a strategy favoured by cricket evolution. It seems the sending home of Woakes was a kind of premonition for something wacky in the way of selection. You'd think Woakes (or even Curran) would've been the best compromise to lengthen the batting, fortify the seam bowling and allow two spinners to play. Pity Moeen wasn't available too.

Whatever it takes!!!
Such a stupid thing to say. I know he is cricket coach himself and so qualified to talk about cricket but by making these remarks, he is making it awkward for his son to be in the same dressing room as his teammates.
The new Yograj will be a combo of Sundar and Gill's dads.
