Gooch 1990 is an insane number given the innings played

I don't remember whether it was Bhogle on radio or Shastri on Fox who said it, but he mentioned that as soon as Kohli comes out to bat, their internal viewership tracking metrics go absolutely ballistic, just a huge and obviously identifiable increase every time, including on Fox. So there's definitely a pretty unique commercial complication to it as well, I can't imagine there's another player in the world for which that's a phenomenon.
It’s why Tiger is given so much leeway

India could get 99 wrong decisions go their way, then get 1 go against them and think "they always get the bad decisions against them".

They've had Joel Wilson cheating for them all game and still have the lack of awareness to actually believe they were unlucky.

When you're used to immense privilege, equality (or even just slightly less privilege) feels like discrimination

I'm a bit disappointed in this aftermath. After Perth we pretty much had Australians to a T lauding Bumrah, praising Kohli and saying India deserved the win. I rdont like to believe Australian supporters are a better people, yet here we are. We should all be praising Bumrah (still) but also focusing on Cummins and Smith instead of wallowing in the seeming injustice of what was, after all, a correct decision.
India did not lose the game...Australia won it. We ****ed up too and gave India free wickets in batches. But when it counted on the last day, and Australia needed a breakthrough, Cummins bowled Head, sucked in Pant and the rest is history. That was exceptional.

Happy new year all.

What do you want us to say ?

Your side is much better than ours and it will continue to remain so till it is a 9 vs 11 game .

Maybe in the past with Dhoni.

Yes , this definitely happens particularly with Dhoni in IPL . I watch on Hotstar app which shows live concurrent viewership and whenever Dhoni comes to bat , I observe atleast 1 million additional viewers.

So in terms of popularity in IPL it is Dhoni > Kohli > Rohit

This is cumulative viewership not concurrent ( 1 crore= 10 million )
