Ganguly was always a petty fvck, that much I agree with HB. Goes all the way back to him refusing drinks duty as a 19 year-old. Subsequent incidents like keeping Waugh waiting for the toss, not playing at Nagpur, the shirt-waving jibe at Flintoff at Lord's were glossed over with nationalistic fervor but they all point to an effeminate man who holds grudges and teabags his opponents' faces when he gets the chance.
These pale in comparison to behind-the-room decisions he took to screw Indian cricket (both domestic and international)

1 billion+ cricket mad people in India and yet they cannot find anyone to replace T20 slogger Rohit Sharma in the test side. Can only imagine how desperately weak the domestic competition is over there with candidates just not coming through and the selectors shrugging their shoulders over what to do. Kohli is delaying his retirement until somebody emerges who can take his place, it’s actually a selfless act. BCCI earn annually the same as the GDP of a medium sized country but have no success in identifying and bringing on new players. Amazing.

Jaddu for a long time even over shadowed Ashwin , when they both played together in last 5 years. However, just as when Ashwin retires, he also seem to have hit a plateau. Need to go all the way back to last BGT to find when he was truly unplayable.

Talking about Dravid, is there a more likeable cricketer than him?
Agree. If there is anything related to Dravid, that is unlikeable, it is his fans who make him out to be some sort of virtuous, impeccable reincarnation of perfection. I still can't believe many in India think that Dravid is a better test player than Sachin.

‘As of my last update, cricket is immensely popular in India, with millions of players participating at various levels. Estimates suggest that there are over 100 million people who play cricket recreationally in India, including both organized and informal play. Additionally, the number of registered players with cricket associations, such as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is in the hundreds of thousands. The sport's popularity is further bolstered by the Indian Premier League (IPL) and international matches, drawing significant interest from fans and aspiring players alike.’

I'm pretty sure Karma originated in India...so I think the nation would understand that the moment a seasoned old bully tried to physically intimidate a young debutant (dropped a shoulder into him) and got off with a wrist smack, the karma for that match was cast. Anything that happened after that was predetermined.

Well yeah, don't think any right-minded Indian fan i.e. all ten of us, enjoys how some of our lot carry on

Man, these promo packages on Indian channels for upcoming series and tournaments involving India have plumbed some insane depths of cringe. There's literally no line left between Indian cricket and the most mawkish that Bollywood has to offer. Yes, we are like this only...AND WE SUCK.

I like the moaning about Head too. Indians claiming he should be banned for his disgusting celebration...

No idea what they are moaning about but I think it was Sidhu leading the moaning.

I mean people say silly things in the heat of the moment, especially after a painful loss, I really don't think there's too much more to it than that.
