**Official** 4th Test at Melbourne, 26-30 Dec 2024

Just came to revel in the Kohli hatred after that woeful piece of under 10s running from him. I'd have rightly copped a serve from the coach in junior cricket if I'd done that to a bloke in his 80s.

The best thing about it was that Kohli effectively gifted Australia with 3 wickets because of his selfish childishness. He should be dropped and sent back to the BBL for that nonsense.

Horrible. Not content with simply being passengers, now they’re actively contributing to the loss. Both Rohit and Kohli.

At this point, it’s the selectors fault honestly. They’ve shown what they are.

Any danger of jaiswal stop wearing those hideous tendulkar pads? Completely ruin the anesthetics

Also india's chances of retaining the BG fades rapidly if they don't conjure up a resistance tomorrow. Australia very rarely lose at Sydney even to India. Its a one place where even an out of form Smith makes runs so this reinvigorated version could cash in big time

I just remembered that Jaiswal and Kohli were involved in a near identical run out in that third Test against NZ just a few months ago. IIRC Kohli went with Jaiswal's call then and Jaiswal ended up running himself out at a really crucial point in the game, just as he looked set to explode. So I wonder if that was in his mind in not fully trusting Jaiswal's calling today.

Oh and I see Washington is following in Ashwin's footsteps in one very important respect: he's been randomly sent out to do the presser for some reason after a poor day for the team

Where Sam Konstas will take 6/9 on a rank turner.

Reddy with five overs and a duck. Glad to see the six bowler strategy working out. Reddy has truly outperformed in this series and has done exceptionally well with the bat - so this is not a knock on him. He has come in under pressure situations and totally outperformed the top order and done everything asked of him and more - totally grabbed his opportunity with both hands.

But he is not an international quality bowler and he averages 23 in FC cricket with the bat. Like what the **** is the thought process that you think a guy averaging 23 in FC cricket will consistently outperform dudes averaging 50+? Because if you truly think that, get rid of the Ranji trophy and call it a day because it’s clearly completely useless as a competition.

So much over rating of Reddy. He's done well for a #7 or #8 but with Pant batting #5 he's taking the spot of a pure middle order bat or a 4th bowler, which he's nether. His highest score is 42 while his best bowling is 1/21 (bowling only 5-6 overs per innings)

I don't mind them giving Reddy a go at 7 tbh. He's looked both composed and proficient albeit against the old ball, but 7 is hardly going to be facing the new rock too often (given how rarely the second new ball has been required this series for Australia) and if they think he's good enough, then he deserves to be backed while confident and in form.

That's in isolation though - in the context of perhaps tapping Ashwin on the shoulder and dropping Gill, it is a curious decision to go with so many all-rounders then not really use them as such

I guess not having batted yet is a duck if you do some mental gymnastics. He's India's 3rd leading run scorer despite batting 7, he's clearly doing something right.

Stats shouldn't be the only metric to judge younger players though. Eye test is equally important

He just looked reddy to play at the top level

Indians should cut Sharma and Kohli some slack if my example is anything to go by. I was hating on Labu and Smith for being over it and **** ***** just two tests ago. Now I'm a clown.

But a happy clown.

Reddy hasn't batted yet. Confusing him with Akash's night-watchman effort?
