Likely if someone gets out early, they were just not well set yet. That's mostly just a mental lapse IMO

Williamson probably the best of that quartet given the context of who they bat around.Big 4 test hundreds:
1.Root- 36
2.Smith- 33
3.Williamson- 32
4.Kohli- 30
Smith building his average back up again to within 10 runs up above Kohli
Shut the door on the opposition. Now we have Marsh facing the new ball. Plus I think it would do Smith mental good to go on and get a really big, 140+ score, so he can prove to himself he can still do it.huh, why are we acting like India will score more than 200
Paging Hurricane...do you not give a batsman a standing ovation after a ton regardless? Isn't that just the given thing to do?
I don't see why. He averages 55 in England, and that's playing away from his home conditions, against bowlers used to them and the Dukes ball. Logic dictates that if he grew up with English conditions and the Dukes ball, and played his games there against touring bowlers not used to them, he would average higherwith a lower average probably
I think that's reaching a bit tbf; he simply lost concentration after a milestone which can happen to anyone.Shut the door on the opposition. Now we have Marsh facing the new ball. pretty sure the ton itself will give himself the proof that he can do it - but I get your pointShut the door on the opposition. Now we have Marsh facing the new ball. Plus I think it would do Smith mental good to go on and get a really big, 140+ score, so he can prove to himself he can still do it.
Mine got busy when he played that straight drive to go to 99, nglCan somoene ask smith about his hands?
Because Australia was uber flat until sometime around COVID-19, much much flatter than England I'd argue and he averaged 71 there so I believe in England even if he averages 60-65 his overall average will drop. It's one of the reasons I don't rate Smith as high as some rate him (second after Bradman).I don't see why. Smith's still got it, this inning proves it.pretty sure the ton itself will give himself the proof that he can do it - but I get your point
