Would you be one of those English umpires from before the nineties who usually turns down anything that isn't pitching between the wickets (as if the rule change in 1935 never happened) but fired anyone who padded up, even if it looked like it was heading nowhere near the stumps?
Someone post that blewett lbw off mushtaq ahmed again please

Exactly who I was thinking of. I liked it when Fred Titmus said he thought he was a second rate umpire because he interpreted the rule incorrectly.
DRS's greatest contribution - apart from getting more decision right obviously - is how much it's exposed a lot of previously feted umpires and umpiring practices as being far more interested in shaping preferred playstyles rather than actually enforcing the laws of the game

Oh wow. Smith tends to be a bit unlucky with LBW's at time, he's definitely making up for it here lol

one over too many for siraj and not just because he got hurt, more to the point because he was getting stroppy and not bowling particularly threatingly to either bat when they have bumrah and jadeja available

The very existence of lbw laws has always been to shape preferred playstyles tbf.

Bumrah needs to bowl a bit straighter to head. Get that last ball at the shoulder and he's gonna get himself out.

Edit: Much better line next ball.

Bad signs for Siraj there. Hopefully precautionary in the lead up to lunch. Put in a decent stint in that spell. What was it, seven on the bounce? That’s a long spell at the fetid shithole

That's it Sharma, over bowl Siraj with 7 overs in a row and now brings Bumrah back to bowl him into the ground 😉
