That was funny once but umpires should really start clamping down on this "bowlers randomly swapping the bails" nonsense; it slows the game down for no reason and there's really no justification for keeping it in the game as it's a naked attempt to distract the batsman.
It was funny twice wasn’t it

Awkward height to be catching with fingers downwards. The Aussie style probably the better option in these conditions...obv can't do it on the fly against all your instinct.

That was very drivable. Proper half volley and he got nowhere near it .
Reckon it was a foot too short. With the ball swinging and the pitch fairly quick it's one of those ones you want to be right over, even discounting the cruddy footwork. Better footwork would certainly have helped though.

Why is the bowler even touching the bails in the first place?
well it was stupid and juvenile from siraj and even more stupid and juvenile from marnus to engage him
ftr i would've fired smith but only bc i'm really critical when it's no shot offered

Would you be one of those English umpires from before the nineties who usually turns down anything that isn't pitching between the wickets (as if the rule change in 1935 never happened) but fired anyone who padded up, even if it looked like it was heading nowhere near the stumps?
