Is Neser fit?
If is wasn't pink ball Test, than Nesser for Starc would strengthen both batting and bowling.
Marsh for Neser weakens the batting, where we have the real weakness.

Just Kidding man........ Cameron Bancroft was the tamperer and Warner forced him to do it because he wanted to bowl the next over.
I was a bit confused because your wish for the 2nd opener to score "100 runs combined across the series" read to me like you were on Warner's side and wanted to see whoever was in the team fail because Cummins had rejected his offer.

Gill won't be ready, and Shami will not be flown in either.

So:
  1. Rahul
  2. Jaiswal
  3. Rohit
  4. Kohli
  5. Jurel
  6. Pant
  7. Jadeja
  8. Reddy
  9. Deep
  10. Bumrah
  11. Siraj

I still don't love the bowling attack outside of Bumrah, but India does need to bolster its batting since that is its weaker suit. I would consider Akash Deep instead of Rana or Reddy. I would slot him in ahead of Rana if you wanted more batting and instead of Reddy if you wanted more bowling.

I do hope Shami can come back - though I don't know if they will actually fly him in.

One thing is I hope Sarfaraz bats in the PM XI game and makes runs because I think it's a shame that he isn't getting a chance.

Sarfraz would have kept his place only if he would have scored in last two tests vs nz

Sarfaraz needs to earn his stripes all over again. He was incredibly reckless in that NZ series. Sure, a few others were too, but he's the one trying to secure a place here. Give him a tour game and see how he goes.

Not a chance. Both teams have suspect batting. Somehow, Indian batsmen got so many runs in flat conditions in this test. But in a day night test, it is going to be a low scoring humdinger and whichever team bowls better is going to win by less than 100 runs.
Suspect batting is actually when you get really big blowout wins as one side gets a massive first innings lead and then heads drop in the back half of the game.

rana bowls wobble balls

akash moves the ball conventionally

He literally scored the only century by an Indian batsman that series. Yes, he did terribly in the last two Tests but come on. He needs to be given a fair shot.
