I hope he goes into a heap of events in LA as favourite and falls off in every one of them (without injuring himself, I’m nothing if not gracious)

To be honest why is this even a story. Minor medalist in sport people only watch every four years changes country after one Olympics but chances are he'll never compete in another Olympics and even if he does we'll have forgotten about him by September.

I'll take a stab at this Richardson thing:

- he's getting his end wet with a Brit
- they got serious within a 2 year window to the Olympics, meaning if he moved then, there was the chance Australia would make him sit out competitions, which would include the Olympics.
- He didn't want to suck this up as a consequence of his decision, so decided to delay it until after the Olympics.

Apparently they only got together in Jan this year.

He’s 25 and already is talking about how him and Carlin will be unstoppable in LA when the Dutch team will have lost key men to retirement.

I’m loving his work tbh

BBC website devoting more column inches to this story as the Aussie cycling body want to enforce a two year ineligibility period.

In other news I might sit and watch the paint dry in son's nursery

Further confirmation that Aussies don’t like changes…..balls or nationalities!!

This thing is a big hoo ha for nothing. We invested in him and he honoured that by hanging around and performing at the Olympics for us. Then he promptly announces his switch so we don't waste money on him in the next cycle.
