Haha it was definitely the right move to pull him after Stokes successfully went after him in that second over. Definitely not enough runs to play with to buy a wicket like that in this game.
Yeah NZ probably would've got rolled for about 80 without him in the first dig, then he got England's one batsman out cheaply. I reckon NZ would've been in a much worse position without him, day from hell notwithstanding.
I think the fact that he does delay bringing the spinner on makes it much more likely he'll be targeted like that too. When it's so obviously a Plan C and the quicks are knackered then the batsmen know they can really put a spanner in the works of the bowling rotation if they hit him out of the attack.
