*Official* 2022 New Zealand Tour of England, Ireland, Scotland & Netherlands

Could England have taken the extra 30 mins? Felt like they had all the momentum I still have them as big favourites but now who knows if NZ come out fresh and firing tomorrow
I presume the umpires would look at the RR and assess whether it’s realistic? We weren’t scoring fast enough to get the runs in 8 overs

Thrilling day’s play, hope for a great finish tomorrow. Stokes though lucky early on helped reverse the momentum (went a long way to ensuring the 2nd new ball probably won’t be a factor), and thought Root played very intelligently especially after the Stokes dismissal.

NZ were excellent for the most part but think we’re starting to see the issues with old ball bowling in Wagner’s absence. Disappointed in KW not bringing Ajaz back once Stokes was out, the pavers looked really tired towards the end. Was a similar story in India last year. Still, a wicket early on tomorrow and it’s into a long-ish tail, so 60-40 England I’d say.

Say what you will about the poms but they do have the most crisply white set of whites

^I'm talking about their clothes, not their penchant for social exclusion
That's an extraordinary brave comment from an Australian, let alone someone from Melbourne

State 12th Man
I know Potts batting was poor in the first innings but what is his ability like?
Do England have 4 number 11s or can anyone dig in if a wicket goes early? Leach would have been useful in that situation

I keep seeing people say this but this is possibly the two best players of spin in the England team?

He hasn't played a lot of first class cricket. I think 9 might be his spot.

Potts bats 10 for durham, but honestly can't think many of has seen him bat enough to make a judgment.

I haven't seen him bat at all before this match. I just think he should be at 9 in this 11. Not that Broad at 8 is a confidence booster.

I think the nasser idea of sending Broad in next and hope he trolls a twenty that may win the match is how I'd go, obviously depends how close these two get.

Didn't look too comfortable with his dismissal but it may have just been surprised to get a short ball that soon. Got in a real tangle though. Broad should be in at eight and he should be batting responsibly if he's needed to come in.

Just send broad in at 8 and hope he tests a quick 20 like he did after the woakes-buttler partnership vs Pakistan.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
This has been a see saw test and has played out much better and differently than I expected. Hope it goes down to the wire, either way. Was infuriating to hear local media describe 5 day cricket as the most boring thing ever the other day.

Why must everything be a thriller? Leave me alone lol

I guess after the first morning NZ have fought well to even still be in with a sniff but supporting these guys, the hurricanes and the warriors is stressful.
