Apparently NSW were unhappy with Simpkins in the first game, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the reason for the change.

Ben Roberts and Willie Tonga have both been axed for this weekend's game because of disciplinary reasons. What did people make of Adam Peek's sending off last night? I think it was a fair call. Dane Carlew is being called up as the 18th man for Queensland.

Placing it on report would have sufficed. There was very mimimal contact. Dykes took a dive, as did Gallen later on in the game. Anyway, I think people are approaching this thing from the wrong angle by saying that players shouldn't take a dive and coaches shouldn't instruct them to dive. The point is, you can get around all that nonsense by just not giving penalties for it. The onus should fall back on referess and video referees. It seems to me that the moment a player is down getting 'treatment', the video ref automatically feels like they have to be seen to be doing something. Most times you can spot a dive and a minor infringement from a mile off.

To me he deserved to get sent off, Elbowing - whether you make contact or not, is something that should be no where near the game

You shouldn't generalise when it comes to sanctions. Each case should always be judged on its merits. There are degrees of elbowing, just as there are degrees of head high tackles. This was trivial. It was a nudge. Nothing more, nothing less.
