Lyon lucky to keep his spot imo, he has done NOTHING!!!!!! all year, not that i'm complaining though... QUEENSLANDER (H)
Yeah the conspiracy theory I read last year when he was picked in the Tri-Nationas was that he was secretly promised a rep jumper to come back to the NRL. Can't stand him as well, looks like he is a worthy opponent to Jesse Ryder in a pie eating contest.

Manu Vatuvai has been recalled into the Warriors team for the Storm game in the weekend. Heaven help us, but hope he does well.

I like to know what league fans expected from Lyon when he came back to Australia. Yeah he might have been hyped up as some try scoring machine and that turned into play marker. But anyone who seen him play before knows he was never that sort of players, he just owned them in the Super League.

IMO Lyon been one of major reason why Manly has improved so much from last season, his defence has been brillant this season and along with Burns, Ballin Monnas have taken a lot of pressure of Orford. Obviously him and Ballin have played far lesser role but it has been significant at times. Yeah he hasn't offered a great deal in attack, but we don't really use him as an attacking option as Bell and Stewart have been our main outlets.

But personally i think it is mistake to play both Lyon and Cooper in the centres as they both similar type players, defensive minded centres. Your better off having an more attacking option there. But considering El Masri is the next in line there isn't anyone really. The only option is Grothe but his been far to inconsistent this season to be selected.

See Gold Coast have snapped up Ian Donnelly and Travis Burns is the new target for North Queensland with Jason Smith finally retiring. While Wes Naiqama is also a target for Newcastle.

Travis Burns has been a target for NQ for a couple weeks now. He said he should make a decision within a forthnight as both Manly and Cowboys have put forward offers. He'll probably go to Cowboys so he can get a starting spot. Unless Manly start him in the next couple weeks.

Can't believe the amount of players changing clubs mid season. I know this kind of thing happens regularly in American sports, but can't say I like it happening in the NRL.

The way i look at it the players are usually happier knowing what they are doing next season early on. I know talking to a few players they hate it when they have to make a decision at the back end of the season during the finals or after. They always feel they are rushed and forced to do something one way or the other rather then being able to think it through.

I'm not a big fan of players being released and moving clubs mid season. But then again from playing point of view you rather be playing each week.

As a fan the whole things pretty crap, but you can understand why the players have to do it.

It kind of makes a mockery of what the players were saying about moving the anti-tampering deadline to the end of the season because they wouldn't have enough time to relocate. Doesn't stop them doing it in one week during the season, can't see why it would be any more trouble at the end of the season.

I don't mind players changing mid-season, but i'd prefer if it happened during a set transfer period.

actually i would prefer a system similar to what the use over in European football where they have 1 or 2 set periods during the season that go for around a month where players can change clubs etc.
