Well apparantly after the 8-0 on Saturday, the Azerbaijan coach has dropped most of the side and replaced them with the under 21 side!

Methinks it's a little bit of an over-reaction, but still, should be another sackful tonight.

I'd take 1-0, though.

Seems like a few people are turning into little Svens with his typical waffle - "I'd take 1-0", next you'll be saying there are no easy games in football, praising Emile Heskey and thinking Owen and Beckham are undroppable footballing gods.

Tonight will not be remotely close, again because of players like Rooney and Cole. Whereas sometimes you get players who may drop off in these "lesser" games, Rooney etc cannot think like that and just go out and play their football. Trust me this one will not be remotely close.

Dammit, here's me thinking full-time International managers knew more than armchair supporters...

Oldham are safe now, I reckon - Chipnickers are in reverse. Shame about Franchise FC, though.

Anyone fancy calling the Conference play-off race? Every time I look at the table, my head hurts...
Speaking of the Chipnickers - I believe I won the last man standing competition? ;)

Name a better option to play right wing tonight.

And there was me thinking Owen had a very good International record.

I didn't say otherwise. But everyone knows they're untouchable no matter how bad they're playing, they'll stay on all game except for when they're being rested. I personally think it won't be too long before Wright-Phillips should be getting in the team ahead of Beckham.

Suspect he will take 1-0 now :D

Beckham yellowed for incorrect attire.. Hilarious half.. Looks like their goalie has gone to the Hingston school of diving..

Even with that pathetic 47 minutes of faffing around (I guess they did continue on from against Northern Ireland, trouble is they followed on the disinterested, poseresque and prima donna last 20 minutes bit of that game) they had a bucketload of chances. I reckon 5-0 by the end.

That was hilarious. Their 'keeper has no clue, either. Beckham has now attempted to take a throw from behind the advertising boards...

they were asking Michael Owen before the match whether he could break the record for the most goals in an England match. I think its fair to say he's broken the record for most chances missed in a world cup qualifier...

Meh. Job done.

Good save from Robinson at the end there, Owen obviously was never going to be able to buy a goal tonight! Stevie G had a better game, as did Beckham too.

A C- overall.

TBH i think Beckham had an average game - his corners were crap and i lost count of the number of times his crosses failed to beat the first man, these are supposedly his strengths. He took the goal really well and put a good pass in to Rooney for the first goal but overall it was a fair, not good performance. (No doubt he will get 9/10 in the papers tomorrow and 'He's Beck' headlines)

Owen, A Cole and Neville all had worse games.

That was more pathetic than I dared imagine, god only knows why the geordies cheered/applauded Beckham when he was subbed because he was rubbish - he wasted so many dead ball opportunities, then he's so dense he gets himself suspended for the next game (hopefully someone decent can take the free kicks, corners etc. against Wales and Wright-Phillips will probably show him up if he takes his place).

He's not suspended, Owen is, Beckham wasn't on a Yellow card.

Yea it was wishful thinking on my part, although Owen didn't look like he was all there tonight - kinda like Thorpe a couple of years ago.
