In fact I would place a lot of the credit for England's current side actually beginning to look decent at his door.
?!

They've produced 1 England player, which doesn't compare to United and West Ham, who are probably the most important clubs for England's side.

Arsenal may have only produced one England player but they've raised the quality of the Premier League which will in turn raise the quality of the English players in that league for them to make the grade, which will make Englands side stronger.

I don't see how one team improving (with foreigners) improves the whole League... they don't even win it regularly.

I fail to see how a guy like Henry doesn't raise the standard of whatever he is playing in...

He raises the standard of his own team, not every team...
but he does raise the standard of other teams, as an opposing defender would learn more through playing against him than an English player who may have been played for Arsenal had Henry not joined, but could be a far worse player, like Sean Devine for example (not that I've got anything against Exeter, Neil)

I see your point, it is a very good one.

I would say however that most teams defenders playing against Arsenal wouldn't be using young defenders...

you don't have to be young to learn something ;)

If the defenders are 30 when they play him though, they're not going to be much use to England just because they've played against Henry, they're unlikely to get picked because they won't have long left.

Oh dear Chelsea, where has your Quadruple gone?

Have to say the sending off was harsh, Johnson did well in goal from the free-kick though. :D

Ferguson turned United from mid table plodders to Title winners on practically nothing...

Nothing by todays standards maybe, but at the time the expenditure on Keane wasn't nothing.

Turning a team from 4th or 5th into occasional title winners doesn't compare to Ferguson's achievements while spending almost nothing.
Oh yes, the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo, Ferdinand, van Nistlerooy were all for almost nothing 8-)

He's introduced a lot of the nutrition and fitness ideas that teams now use.

I wonder how many trophies Manure will win...
We all wonder, but i'd say we've got a chance of winning the same amount of trophies as chelsea can, which isn't a bad thing. Anything is possible playing like we are at the moment.

Yeah but to get to the level man utd are now was built on english players in the early 90's, with the exception of cantona for 1.2million, a snip. Keane was a big spend at 3.75 million at the time, but i'd say he was worth it. That's what everyone forgets about man utd, it wasn't always like this, Ferguson rejuvenated the club in much the same way as Sir Matt Busby did post WWII.
