Shay Given's convinced me.I thought he was just good before bt now he's great.Almost worldclass.
Change 'almost' to is.

How many times have Newcastle have been lucky to have had him in goal?

He was absolutely first-rate against us last Sunday. We really hammered Newcastle in the 2nd half & Given pulled off 3 blinding saves & several very good ones.

My only slight reservation is his height; at 6' 1" he's not massive for a keeper nowadays.

I'm shocked to read he is 6'1, I always thought he was a lot smaller.

Looks like Nicolas Anelka is off to Turkey and Newcastle are finally getting rid of Craig Bellamy.

You know BB reading your location I had naturally assumed you might have been a Cambridge Utd supporter, do you orginally come from North London?

I have to admit I'm a little sceptical that he's 6' 1", that's my height & I reckon I've got at least an inch & a half on him! Mind you Fabian Barthez's official height is 6'! Which would make me about 7'!! :D

& no, I'm Cambridge born & bred. I started supporting Arsenal at 7 after their cup run in '83 (really showing my age now!!!) & stuck with 'em since. The Mighty U's are my second "pat-on-the-head" team; in over 20 years of following footy they've only played each other once. Quarter-Finals of FA Cup 1991! I was there (in the Arsenal end). Given their current straits it seems amazing they were only two games from Wembley!

Given is going through good times at the moment, hopefully Newcastle can do better next season.

Are you Nick Hornby then? :p

Forest Green today - really, really need to get a decent performance under our belts. The United game's history, but we've played with a hangover for the last week and a half... UTC

How friggin dumb are the BBC commentators - Kamara (outfield player) falls over stretches his arm out and grabs the ball and pulls it back, and idiot 'Bright' goes on about "I don't see how there's a free kick there".

Technique to die for from rooney, i will be to emulating that in my game tomorrow, with comparable success i dare say.

Today's big shout out goes to Forest Green keeper Steve Perrin for taking all the banter from the Bastin Stand in great spirit, even turning round and conducting "You Fat B*****d" whilst an injury held up play before a goal kick and virtually peeing himself at the sound of "Are you Rooney in disguise".

Some people could do to learn a lot from that!

I felt Souness should have gone instead of Bellamy. His style of managing doesn't seem to be working.Sort of outdated at least pretty soon it will be.He's not an accomplished manager either.

They both should go, Souness is utterly inept but he should at least get rid of some trouble makers before Shearer takes over at the end of the season.
