Totti - talented, but petulant
Raul - under-rated
Valeron - not consistent enough
Nedved - good player
Vieri - see Totti and then some.
Agreed.... but where would Nedved rank up with the likes of Vieira in terms of an overall mid?

Another error by David James costs England a win over Austria (2-2 the final result). He is first choice why?

Italy beat Norway 2-1.

They are different types of player, but I would have rather Vieira in my side.

"Another" Error.

Please remind me the last time he made an Error for England Craig.

He has this reputation based on past performances, which is a bit unfair IMO.

He is first choice because he's the best keeper we have.

Oh I know David James walks on water for you.

And given Austria are a side you are expected to beat, I'm confused you keep making excuses for substandarness. Oh wait you do set low standards.

No, he does not walk on water, but he is our best goalkeeper, and has only made 1 error, yet you're going on as if he's made errors in every England game he's ever played.

Yes we're expected to beat them, but we didn't. Perhaps if the linesman had done his job, the game would've been out of sight by half time. Thing is, I can assume you didn't watch the game from your comments - England's overall game was not substandard - however low you have decided my standards are.

i saw some highlights and thought that was smart work by beckham to pass to lampard rather than shoot, good to see footballers using their brains on the field, rather than going for the glory and trying to score himself....

Marc do you still feel the same way about David James even though he got dropped for Paul Robinson v Poland?

I do think he's the best English keeper, yes - his mistakes are a lot less frequent than people like to make out.

I don't actually have Robinson as second best anyway, but in the event of the injury he is I guess.

i like robinson as a keeper. james has some good days but then has some really bad days but then again, dont we all.....

hey marc do you think there is a lack of good english keepers on the way through.

There are potentially good keepers in Robinson, Kirkland and Green, but IMO they['re not as good as James just yet.

Timmy Cahill scored for Everton....then was red carded a minute later lol...was this his first game for them?

Viduka bagged 2 goals (thus far).

And Leeds are up 2-0, good weekend all around really :D

To be fair, he's made more than 1 error.

He makes brilliasnt saves yes, but he's too unreliable IMO - I can't trust him whever the ball is near him, he made more than one error in the Austria game, too, but only 1 lead to a goal.

Apparently he had a good game today, could have been a lot more without him.

MOTD is going to be interesting tonight, Manure's great start to the season continuing :)

With all the money West Brom have spent this season, they need to start winning, or go down and be in a **** load of debt.

And I know this is in Italy, not England, but how can I leave out AC Milan's 2-2 draw with newly promoted Livorno

Chievo are a good team though, the Italian version of Middlesbrough, or Fulham, or Charlton.

And I would rather draw with them then with Livorno.
