Yup. Happily we generally beat them at Highbury.

Otherwsie there'll be a chorus from their bitter, tiny-willyed supporters bleating about how they won the title for Chelski. 8-)

Lead by SP, probably.... ;)

Well our atrocious perfromance today means we're still not safe but hopefully we did our bit for football today in losing to Torquay, which means that Franchise FC slip in to the relegation zone with 2 games left. They're 4 points behind us and 3 behind Torquay so if they don't win at least one of the last 2 they're gonners. They've peterborough away and Tranmere at home.

Gutted, gutted, gutted.

Last year we finished sixth, missing out by a point. This year, we finished sixth missing out by a point.

Next year?

COME ON CITY!

I think Ferguson and van Nistelrooy should stay. Keane should go. The team setup revolves around Ronaldo and Rooney and they're not at the level yet to fulfill their roles. You can't always be the best. Look at Australia. A few years ago they weren't exactly kingpins of cricket. So too England but look at them now.Chelsea buys experienced players Halsey not young ones. They're more professional and so they don't really have the problems that Man Utd has in gelling. I don't think that should count for much though but if next season rolls around and we don't do any better then i'll be all up for putting pressure on Alex but not now.

Ferdinand, Heinze, Rooney, Ronaldo, Silvestre, G.Neville and van Nistelrooy are all top quality players. A few of them world class. O' Shea's had spots of brilliance when he's had a run. Phil Neville and Howard aren't the worst in the world. Doesn't help Howard that he was in and out of the team. If he shows no improvement next season then pack him off. Scholes and Giggs are still quality. Keane's ok but I think he needs to hand it over to someone else. Smith and Saha are good, moreso for Alan.

If any buying';s going to take place it should be in the goalkeeping position and midfield to replace Giggs if Richardson can't impress. Also for Keane if Kleberson can't string some games together. I don't think Fortune's good enough to be in there regularly.

There's only one "bitter, tiny-willyed supporter" around here and last time I checked they supported the CDMs...

Which is surely an error, setting a team up around 2 players who aren't yet good enough?

That's the same as Coventry saying "we base ourseleves around Mickey Doyle, but he's not good enough"

I don't think I've ever seen O'Shea and brilliance in the same sentence before.

No, they're not the worst in the world, but they're also not good enough.

Why do you think Howard has been in and out of the side if it's not because he's not up to it?!

Good?

A bit of a lowering of standards from what should be acceptable for a club that size - Saha was a huge waste of money, and Smith's scoring rate is far from "good"

You really do make me laugh. The 2nd team you've listed is pure crap. Most of them wouldn't get a game for Southend.
Apart from Roche, I believe everyone has played for their country (in case of Bellion u-21's) and Fletcher has worn the captain's armband for Scotland?

Aren't yet good enough? What do they have to do Marc, move to a different club? Is it a different European Championships that I watched Rooney in, and I watched all of England's matches (shock horror me actually watching something 8-) ) in Portugal.

Only in Italy

And they support the same side. As everybody knows I'm a fan of Italian football, but this is being a disgrace, it is like this is happening almost every weekend (or mid week round).

I mean there is Paolo Di Canio 'gesture to his fans', Roma and Lazio fan's clashing and causing a match to be abandoned, Inter fan's throwing flares and a motor scootor off the second tier, Parma and Juventus supporters invading the pitch and clashing, Hellas Verona fans making monkey grunts to every black player who touched the ball and had Sinisa Mohajlovic as a hero (this was in the Curva Nord).

Now for all the faults of the FA, this is where they are due some praise and credit for fixing up racism and hooligisim.

OT but did anybody here about Quilmes defender Leandro Desábato now facing jail time in Brazil because he called São Paulo striker Grafite a "Hijo de puta! Negro de Mierda!” . Hmm just shows how weak the Spanish FA is (not that I am saying Aragones should be in prison, but he should have got a bigger fine and the sack).

Just want to know what other people think of UEFA's new ruling about the qutoas of home grown players in their squads as just a ay to get around EU law?

That says more about the strength of some of the International sides they represent.

If you actually read what I was responding to, it was the pathetic excuse of the day (we're basing it round those 2 players who aren't yet good enough)
