Welcome to the 2009-10 season!
The only notable retirement is that of Nathan Astle who can now spend more time with his old buddies Matthew Horne and Chris Cairns.
Chris Harris has yet again confounded the pundits by deciding to continue his career. Harry will be turning 40 later in the season!

Choosing a third opening batsman after Stephen Fleming and Timothy McIntosh was very difficult with several players in the frame.
24 year old Richard Bucknall has the best stats, but has had ongoing injury problems and has been disappointing when given a chance previously.
28 year old Nicholas Horsley impressed in the ODI's against Australia.
25 year old Neil Broom was another to be considered.
However all missed out to 20 year old Murray Jagger who is being touted as a future star. The English tour was seen as an ideal opportunity to blood him into the international setup.
Of the other batsmen, Chris Harris retains his spot despite his age due to a solid performance last season.
This meant that there was no room for 24 year old Jeff Tyson, perhaps another name that might crop up in future.
It is hoped that 24 year old Jesse Ryder will make further strides on this tour, particularly in the two tests.
24 year old keeper Ian Marston impressed last season when he took over from Chris Nevin
and is now the incumbent test keeper.
In the pace bowling department, James Franklin, Mark Gillespie, Brent Hefford and Andrew Schwass could all be considered unfortunate to miss the cut, but with all rounder Jacob Oram proving a capable bowler at test level, it was decided to take only four specialist pacemen.
Iain O'Brien and Daryl Tuffey have been consistently proven performers and were automatic selections.
Matthew Walker has been a consistent performer at domestic level and also has a good test and one day record, so he regained his place in the squad.
The new face is 19 year old RMF bowler Chris Benton. Again he is one to watch for the future and I am hoping that this tour will fast track his development.
NZ have been crying out for a young spinner and now we have a promising 20 year old off spinner by the name of Andrew Aimson. He has been brought on tour with Daniel Vettori again with an eye to the future.
First up on tour is a three day friendly against Combined Universities. Here is the NZ playing eleven:
