NZ domestic season 2023/24

So, "Pole Hunter" Rowe has got the callup for the Stags. Admittedly CD have gone a bit down the depth chart to arrive at him, but still. Hope he does well.

Jeez that ND v Wellington pitch looks bone dry. Walker's getting it to rag on the morning of day 1. With Timmy playing this game it makes me wonder whether it's been done on purpose to give him a sense of how he, SP and Sears might fair in Asian conditions.

If Dale Phillips ever gets a black cap I think we're gonna need to come up with a better nickname than DP.

5 out of 5 for Foulkes after some quiet returns recently in FC. The ball to get Solia is just evil.
I absolutely love Foulkes as a bowler. Bowls some absolutely filthy balls to get LHers out, think he got Solia earlier in the season with one similar. And doesn't carry on like a pork chop when he gets a wicket, just jogs down to shake hands like the good old days.

87 runs for last wicket now, Hay and Davey. Good to see Will Young get some runs.

With the caveat of "minnow-bashing at McLean", this has been a nice batting performance from CD. Tough work against the new cherry last evening, but since there's been a very fluent Young knock (until he got one that nipped back), Hay attempting to get a ton to stake his place in the side for another season, only to be upstaged by Schmuligun.

Sussex ends with 8/71. Maybe a late blooming seamer who could push for an A tour spot.

Important century for Blundell and nice to do it in spin friendly conditions given the upcoming test schedule.

Schmulian forgets to run on what looked a pretty comfortable single with Hay on 98. Hay goes to another FC century, his 18th overall. Wonder if this is his last game. Very interesting career. Started off brilliantly then seemed to fade and stepped away before having a very long late career resurgence.
