Lockyer and Seymour are huge laibilties in defence. Seymour misses way too many tackles and Lockyer often has bad reads

the myth of Seymour missing too many tackles is just that, a myth. He makes more tackles than any other half in the game, but the reason he misses so many is that a lot of them are one on one on the fullback after chasing his own kick, its hard to tackle while running at speed and most of those misses halts the progress of the fullback and he gets tackled by the next man in defence.

but lockyer does miss too many yes, seymour however is a better defender than he is given credit for...

 You actually think I'll believe that? I've watched him play and he is not a good defender at all

Brisbane missed more tackles than any team in the comp this year but were still in the top 3 or 4 for defence, its not always about the simple one on one miss, people read too much into things like "oh he missed 6 tackles and only made 14" and things like that, Seymour and Lockyer's defence has yet to cost us a game so im not too upset with it...

naa i said he will, thats wayne bennett's opinion, not mine...
it doesnt really matter for attack, but i feel hes doing too much work in defence and Hunt would handle it better anyway...

I think it does matter in attack. Lockyer was ordinary in those last couple of months and they rely on him far too much. Hunt needs more pill to take the pressure of lockyer and to actually make the defense guess about who will make the kick.

Lockyer is playing the same role in attack now as what he was 3 or 4 years ago, its just hes attack is suffering from the heavy work load in defence, if he goes back to fullback and does less defending his attacking game will improve...

He's a ball-player now. At fullback, he used to really run onto passes from ball-players. his role in attack has definitely change IMO

if canberra can keep their players fit they will avoid it and do well to run mid table, Storm still have some good players but no halfback and too many mistake prone players, warriors have the weakest roster and will get it i think...
Well Copper Cronk will be the half back next season and they will be working hard to get him prepared and used to that role in the off season (I think he trains there anyway) and I have no idea how he will go as he has played a lot of his footy off the bench as a sort of utility player (I know he has covered ofr Hill when he hurt his ankle).

Although I wish Monaghan hadn't re-signed with Manly as he would have been a good buy. If Crocker can keep his lid on and not do anything stupid then he should go well.

Haha true. It swings both ways though. We seem to get mediocre Australians and they get talented kiwis.
And the All Balcks some how get the best Pacific Island players (lets face it they almost hand out a New Zealand passport at birth over there) and the English get South Africa's finest.

we already poached a couple of god young NZ players, Eastwood got a taste of first grade this year and is one for the future...

imo brisbane's team should be
1 Darren Lockyer
2 Someone new!
3 Justin Hodges
4 Brent Tate
5 Leon Bott
6 Karmichael Hunt
7 Brett Seymour
8 Shane Webcke
9 Barry Berrigan
10 Petero Civoniceva
11 David Stagg
12 Tonie Carroll
13 Shaun Berrigan
Res
14 Sam Thaiday
15 Brad Thorn
16 Casey McGuire
17 Neville Costigan

quite simply Hodges and Tate are our best centres and mcguire is a great bench player and s berrigan is far too good to leave out of the side, so i think he could switch to lock, hes not a creative half and has always struggled there so maybe if he puts on 5-8kgs he would make a good lock, this would also let us move thorn ro the bench so we have some impact after webby and civ go off after 25 minutes. im happy enough with Bott, hes still only a kid and will improve, but we definately need a big strong winger, i dont know where its gonna come from but Scott Minto is rubbish...
And for Blaze Greg Eastwood has said he is avialble for New Zealand.

You know something is wrong with Minto when he is outjumped by Matt King, and although King is good in the air, Minto is a lot taller and should have no problems.

That's a load of **** Craig. I'll admit Sivivatu is dicey, but apart from that what other All Blacks of recent times weren't Kiwis?

Steve Devine. Apart from him though you have a valid point.
