Hows about that AFL grand final on Saturday?
Seems to me like it was pretty boring. They play for what 80 minutes and each goal is worth 6 points? The scoreline was 54-50 or something. What happened during the game? Lots of ball chasing I guess and not much point scoring. With 80 minutes of play and 6 points for every goal the scorelines should be 300 each.

As opposed to the 80 minute, 29-0 thriller.
That's a bit of a silly argument. You can't kick the ball over the opposition to score 6 points you actually have to use some skill and ability to get through them.

1998 table
1 Brisbane 37
2 Newcastle 37
3 Melbourne 35
4 Parramatta 35
5 Norths 34
6 Sydney City 32
7 Canberra 30
8 St George 27
9 Canterbury 26
10 Manly 26
I remember the 10 team final series and I remember Canterbury coming 9th that season, however I didn't make the connection between that and making the grand final

My previous statement is therefore withdrawn

Oh calm down mate, I wasn't being serious.
lol *calms down from uncontrollable rage*

You wouldn't have made a "joke" about it if you didn't think there was anything in it. Your "non serious" statement was based on a mistaken premise.

Gearing up for another ridiculous night-time Grand Final. I'm not necessarily a stickler for tradition, but I have always resented the NRL for putting the Grand Final on at night, since 2001. If you love rugby league, then your Grand Final day used to start at 10am, and (after a BBQ) you'd settle back for a 3pm kick-off. But now, they jam the damn 6pm news into the telecast, and give the fans no time to savour the aftermath of the Grand Final, because by the time the full-time siren sounds, it's nearly bedtime. It's just the worst decision the NRL have made - ever.

I totally agree. Poor little kids, I especially feel for them. It's horrible, because it's still pretty cool at night.

Think of the people in Nth Queensland. There's no public holiday for them the next day. The NRL are being too one-minded when scheduling the grand final and bowing too easily to Channel Nine. Just think if it was a Cowboys v Warriors final. Warriors fans would have to stay up unitl the early hours of the morning to watch it. It is ridiculous having a night grand final.

All the Tigers fans I know have been shooting their mouths off this whole finals series. And luckily for them they've won all 3 matches so I can't give them any ****. Hopefully this is the one they lose and I can get stuck in
