He's only a kid, but I like the look of MacKay.
Me too, very strong pivot. Rarely do you see a flyhalf crashing the line to offload to his runners like Mackay can.

hes alright, should do well at super 12 level, doubt he will ever play for the Wallabies unless there are a number of injuries though.

Apparently Preston Campbell has said he is heading to the Coast if they get the new licenice, and potential targets include: Orford, Priddis, Bailey, Anasta, Finch, Mason, Bowen, Marshall (Benji), Prince, Lolesi, and Faumuina (is he off contract this year or next year Tim?).

.
...so basically anything that moves

Anasta must be the most over rated player in the comp. The Tahs can have him. I'm also hoping that he gets picked for NSW as it will weaken their side.

Not at 5/8th he won't; his kicking game isn't up to it at Union. He might make a half-decent Super 12 centre, but he'd be up against Mortlock for the role in The Wallabies so I don't he'd get much of a go internationally.

kicking game?
Anasta may not be a great player, but his kicking is top notch, id say hes got the longest kick (along with amos roberts) in the nrl...

Yeah, but there's more to kicking in Union than length! Henry Paul was a far more subtle League player than Anasta, and he's been pretty average (to be polite) in the 15-man code. We'll see how Farrell goes too.

Lockyer would be the one the ARU would love, but I can't see it until he's pushing 30 a la Farrell.

lockyer is in the first year of a 5 year contract with brisbane, he turns 27 this year, by the time his contract is up he will be too old for the ARU to chase...

I was thinking of Anasta at inside centre, he'd go alright, can kick it, crash it, ball play it.

However he wouldn't oust Giteau of course.

I decided to go for an upset and tip the Rabbits over the Dragons, but it doesn't look good with Illawara leading 22-6.

He won't dominate union. His kicking game will be on par with all the other five eights in the world at best. Union has a far better long distance kicking game than league.

What about union is of a poorer standard in your opinion?

& friggin' Matt Cooper is playing!!!!

All week all talk has had him out for a fortnight, so I dumped him from my fantasy team!! :@

I reckon it was just merde to make certain he wasn't selected for the Country-City thing.

Great comeback win for The Raiders; they looked dead & buried at 18-0. Another good game for Jason Smith; his years at Hull certainly haven't hurt the old boy! :D

TBF The Panthers missed a decent goalkicker, 3 conversions went begging, but it didn't look like it was going to matter.

In my opinion it's defence and ball skills that are of a poorer standard. A regulation inside ball has Gordon Bray almost over the edge in union. That's not to say they do nothing good with the ball in union, but they don't do anything a good league player can't do quicker.

TBF Union has pretty much nicked League's spread defence. Everywhere you look there's ex-League guys like Edwards, Larder, Anderson & Ellis coaching in Union now.
