New Zealand Domestic Season 2006/07

Wow, we certainly did well with the bat during the English county season, but continue to struggle in the bowling department. Not surprising really it.

Hopefully with all those overs Adams and especially Franklin got under their belt, they'll be firing for us internationally.

James Franklin is simply not an ODI option right now. Those are pretty terrible stats considering he was an opening bowler. Vincent, Fleming, Marshall all had very good batting campaigns and McCullum was pretty impressive in his short stint. I wouldn't be surprised if he picks up a County contract in the future.

Well, lots of roads in Division Two (Taunton, Lord's, Wantage Road) for Franklin and the batsmen. There's a reason Ramprakash averaged 2,000 for Surrey.

SP Fleming (Notts): 13 / 12 / 1 / 310 / 121* / 28.18 / 82.22
This is also worrying for me

Very worrying, we need Fleming to be firing big time when the CT comes around. Impressed with Hamish Marshall, he played very well and hopefully carries his good form over to international level. Also good to see Fleming, McCullum and Vincent getting some good first class games. Struggling a bit in the bowling department though, gutted to see Franklin being knocked around.

Fleming will be fine . We know he is good enough, and he is not in danger of being dropped is he?..... You could look at it that players always go through peaks and troughs so its better to get a trough out of the way in county cricket....

I have a feeling that this is going to be a really good year for Vincent.....providing he is picked.seemed to have matured last year....and he is a bout the right age where batsmen especially start showing what they are made of. 27 or 28ish.

Just have a question about this Eden park redevelopment which is going to mean that the Auckland team will have to move from the outer oval to somewhere that is actually larger than your average kitchen sink. Does anybody know where they will go or where they are thinking about going.????. Cant wait to get a proper cricket ground in Auckland.....For a city of a million people to not have a decent area to play the country's no 1 summer sport, is slightly ridiculous.

I'm really looking forward to the 2006/07 domestic cricket season, should be a good chance to see the up and coming players and maybe give a couple of new players a shot at playing for the Black Caps this summer.

They kept slotting one dayers in between championship games. It was quite funny really, Flem would make 80 in the 4 day game then fall for a duck in the one dayer!

He will basically only be playing ODI's this summer - so NZ has nothing to worry about.

Don't worry Kiwi fans, notts have always been a very average one day side so i wouldn't worry too much.

No news on Mal Loye just yet, but good to see Otago are trying to strengthen their squad. I really do hope that Hogg performs becuase Trott was huge for us last season. On a side note, anybody going to the Twenty/20 competition on Invercargill on the 10,11 and 12 of November?

Michael Parlane is to captain for Wellington because Matthew Bell doesnt want to do it anymore. (of course this will only be the case when Fleming is away). Don't know if its been mentioned yet.

Where do you get your information from Natman? I'd heard about Vettori but this is the first I've heard about Parlane taking over the captaincy.
