No, he captained the ODI side only...SJS didn't say they played together...He said they played for the same FC team (which may mean in different times)...

17. was one of them from pakistan or england ??
the al-rounder wasn't from Pakistan, sjs said...So you think any of the middle-order batsmen who captained Pakistan in tests and played after 1990 and retired can be called too much of a 'perfectionist' and can be criticized for that?...Miandad or Inzi it can't be...Salim Malik? I don't think....Then?

Both are correct. Well done.

I would love top know how you got that :)
Gut feeling...I just tried to think which great al-rounders from the past few decades can criticize a batsman for being too 'perfectionist'...I thought only Botham or Tony Greig could've made such a comment (since you said he was not from India, Pakistan or West Indies)...

Then I checked which non-English (as you said they weren't from the same country) middle-order batsmen who captained their sides, played after 1990 and played in the same FC side with either Tony or Botham....I found out Crowe with Botham, Jimmy Adams with Tony perhaps....Others (like Miandad, Inzi, Lara etc.) couldn't be called 'too perfectionist' by any stretch of imagination....Also, options like Fleming and Wessels were ruled out because you said he wasn't an opener...

Then I thought a comment about Crowe will perhaps interest you more than one about Jimmy Adams (an advantage of knowing you from some days , you know :) )...So, just went with it...

A very interesting question it was...By the way, where does Botham say this? Any book? Or commentary?

And, I would like you (or some1 else) to ask the next question as I'll be busy for the next few days...

Name us

We both played for a county that had some success, but not a lot, having to wait until the 1940s to win our first championship (neither of us played in this winning side, although we played in the next winning team)

We both have a record that some say proves bias against the county we played for, one is a batting record and one is a bowling record

Tell me the two players?:)

1. Are the records for FC cricket overall, or for the said county only?
2. Are the records something to be proud of?

FC cricket overall

Not proud of, and although they are not bad records, I imagine they would not be impressed with them
