My original question was:

Only four players have ever achieved this. Who are they & what feat is it?

Q1) Is it a bowling feat? No.
Q2) Cowdrey, Miandad, Greenidge, Stewart all scored centuries in their 100th Test? No
Q3) Is it a batting feat? Yes
Q4) Is it a test batting feat? Yes
Q5) Warne,Vaas, Chauhan and Kumble who are the only players to reach 2000 runs without making a century? No
Q6) Trumper, Macartney, Bradman, Majid Khan who are the only batsman to make centuries before lunch on the first day? No
Q7) Do any of their names rhyme with Meryl Streep? No
Q8) Can the feat be realistically achieved in a single match? No (impossible actually)
Q9) Batted on all 5 days of a test? No (not sure if any of them have, but it's not related)
Q10) Did any of the 4 debut before WW2? Yes (2 before; 2 after)

As that's 10 questions, time for a new clue.

First Hint: The 4 players are from only 2 countries

Q11) Are the two countries England & Australia? No (one of the countries is England or Australia )
Q12) Are all the players still alive? No (two are)
Q13) Did any of them achieve this in the last 30 years? Yes (one with another partially completing the feat)
Q14) Is it connected to scoring centuries? Yes
Q15) Is Bradman one of the four? No

Second Hint: Three of the players are from Australia, other player is from India

Q16) Is it achieved against one country? No (but by luck the feat has been achieved solely against England by two of the players)

A summary of the key points:

The feat is related to test centuries and only 2 players achieved this feat pre-WW2 (both Australian) and only 2 players achieved it post WW2 (1 Aussie; 1 Indian).

It has nothing to do with countries and cannot be achieved in a single match.

Duff, Ponsford, Chappell and Azharuddin.
Made centuries in their first and last Test Matches.
Without wanting to sound pedantic, and Ive not read all the clues and therefore could be wrong, but couldnt you include a guy like Andy Ganteaume in that?

No you couldn't. He made a century in his first Test. He made a century in his last Test. He didn't make a century in his first and his last Test because it was the same century thus producing a split infinitive.

Yes (but it's not the whole answer).
England won that test. Is that significant?
Ah, just to think about that spell from Tufnell makes me a happy man. Remember it like yesterday :)

Is the significance related to all three of Lambert, Botham & Tuffers only?

[if yes, is it that all three only played this one test during the 5-test series]

Well, technically that could be done in one Test if it was the only one you played... :p
