Did they umpire together in the match in which Meckiff was called for chucking ?

I am going with the guess that they hold the record for umpiring most matches together.

Q19 Correct !! They stood together in 19Test Matches, beating the previous best of the West Indian pair of D.Sang Hue and R.Gosein.

You still haven't said who "they" are . If you or anyone can say who they are , I will hand it to you !!

BTW , nice to see your post after a long gap . Why not join us more often ? :) :)

Egar and Rowan
Colin Egar and Lou Rowan it was !! Stood together in 19 Tests. Current Umpiring structure being such every Test has different umpiring combinations and from different countries, unlikely to be matched. Colin Egar retired around 1968 and Lou Rowan in 70s.

Egar was also the umpire who called Ian Meckiff, but unlike the Murali saga . as the picture below shows things were done much more pleasantly . (possibly because they were same countrymen I guess :D )

Egar is the one in tie on right and Meckiff on left discussing Egar's calling Meckiff 4 times in the pavillion in Brisbane .

is it a list of number of tests played after a certain date?

and is there a reason it is Bangla Desh, rather than Bangladesh?

Q3. is it a list of number of tests played after a certain date?.....NO

And there is no reason for writing Bangla Desh. Actually it IS two words in the language.... Land (of) Bengalis !!

I am on the other side of the world at the moment. The time difference is the problem. I read this thread regularly but when I come online, usually there would be no one around here.
