Whats so unique about this number ?

Q1 is it to do with a batsmans score?....NO
Q2. Is it to do with batting?....NO
Q3. Scotland won the Intercontinental Cup by an innings and 84 runs......NO
Q4. is it to do with bowling???.....NO
Q5. is it to do with fielding???.....NO
Q6. is it a crowd figure??......NO
Q7. is it an age??.....NO
Q8. is it to do with matches/ series?....YES


HINT #1 : It is a number of test matches ! But it has to do with no player past or present.
Q9. any thing to do with umpires???....NO
Q10. number of tests played between 2 countries?.....NO
Q11. tests at a certain ground?.....NO


HINT # 2 : The significance of this number could be gone by May this year !!

Thats a big big hint :p

I dont think you are going to get it. So here is the final and the best hint.

HINT 3 4 : The last number which was posed as a similar question was 229 ! And it was a similar question with a similar answer !

Sorry SJS,

You've got me stumped. The four answers to the 229 question were: lowest number not scored by a batsman in a completed Test innings; score made by SA vs SL when eliminated from the WC2003; score made by Ban vs. Ind in their first ODI win as a Test playing nation; and the highest ever individual ODI batting score.

None of those four I can relate to 84 Test matches. Two are individual records, the other two are team totals...I can't see how this is in any way 'very similar' to 84, which has been confirmed as a number of Test matches not referring ot any individual player or umpire. :wacko:

There is one of them which is similar. I wish I could tell you more but then I might as well provide the answer :)
