Most likable cricketer - currently?

Not too many good guys around these days. Younis Khan seemed like a really down to earth and humble guy when he came here but its hard to say due to his conflicts with his board.

I think one of the guys who rarely gets mentioned is de Villiers. He seems like a good guy and a likeable cricketer. Dravid seems like a good guy as well.

From the Indian team : Laxman

There's more to Dravid than what meets the eye IMO. He's had his fair share of run-ins with Ganguly, Tendulkar, etc. Not to say he isn't a top class guy, but he may not be all he's made out to be. I'd have answered Tendulkar if this thread had come up two months ago, but his decision to skip the West Indies test tour (a place where he has never tasted success as a player) left a bad taste in the mouth TBH.

From the other teams : Doug Bollinger

It's almost become cliche to say so but I still think it's Graeme Swann. Always brings the lols.

I suspect his selective deafness cost him quite a few non-Indian admirers.

8-)

6 80+ scores from just 14 innings against quality bowlers (bishop, walsh, ambrose etc) = failure

It would've been better if he had injured himself before the BIG series against england. (the current series ends today and the tour game in on friday- such a big gap)

Btw tendulkar's been in england for the past 2-3 weeks, quite possibly getting himself ready for the series.

I said 'player', not 'batsman'. He's toured West Indies twice and West Indies won both those series. The current tour would have been a great opportunity to tick another box in his resume but...Anyway I've harped on about this enough in other threads. :)

so misleading
Could've just said that he had never won a series there.

Plus, fully ready (preparation wise) and fit tendulkar (zaheer aswell) is what india need for the series.

I Don't really find Vettori likeable TBH.Most of it has to do with the way he whined when Gul owned his team during the T20 WC.I'd say Ross Taylor is 10 times more likeable than him.

Basically all of the Pakistani team apart from the obvious names. Always loved Saeed Ajmal and Younis Khan.

Posts reported.

Sure he's kind to furry animals and all, but he's an absolutely filthy chucker. Struggle to like any player who doesn't conform with one of the most basic tenets of the sport.
