In one match I really needed to take a leak while batting so I got myself out on purpose. Sometimes I wonder if that would count as fixing because it was the best piss I've ever had.

If you ban him for life you set out the clear message that it's wrong.

Slap on the wrist then fast tracking him back after he, let us not forget, flouted the terms of his ban does not send out that message.
Yeah, because Sreesanth lifetime ban ended match fixing.

Oh wait.

I've actually wondered about the fact that I've never seen a cricket game stop so that someone could take a piss, but given the length of time players are out there it seems inevitable that it must have needed to happen.

Deliberately underperforming in a team sport for personal gain actually. That's the worst of the worst.
Haha that's so badly worded! Why not ban for life all those batsmen who conceded a maiden over on 99 then? They are all 'deliberately underperforming in a team sport for personal gain'.

Daryl Tuffey had the runs while in a tour match in India, had to finish his over in like a minute and then run off the field so he wouldn't poo himself.

Playing out a maiden then carrying on batting. How is that underperforming? And how the **** is that the same as being paid money to do something that is to the detriment of your own team?

Marc, given your line of reasoning, I am curious. What are your views on the death penalty?

Edit: It is somewhat relevant in the sense that do you believe in second chances?

really? How is it a second chance?

That's like saying you can get a second chance just not in this life :p

If proven without a doubt that the criminal is guilty of the offence then I personally don't have a problem with it.

I think wasim held the play up for a few minutes to take a leak in one of his innings. Might have been in his 257*
