WHY DOES EVERY AUSSIE BATSMAN BATS LIKE HE HAS BIN GIFTED SOME SORT OF MYSTICAL POWER?
HER IS THE ANSWER FOLKS
1.aussies have a very well developed domestic infrstructure
2.the best bowling attack is held by a'tralia and aussie batsmen never have to face the very best of i'national bowling

and for me MR.CLARKE is an oyester pearl from the coast of autralia which in my view atleast can never and will never match the lustre of pearls from th INDIAN OCEAN(for ex-SACHIN TENDULKAR):ninja:

No way would he make an Indian side, and to be honest he's find it hard to get in for the Windies or England IMO.
I'd pick Katich over Robert Key anyday.

That's debatable IMO....

*McGrath - class, but not as class as he was a year or two back....still a tremendous bowler.
*Gillespie - on his day, but not as consistent as he should be.
*Lee - the standard by which underachieving bowlers are measured.
*Warne - out of the picture at the mo.
*McGill - See Gillespie.
*Bichel - a workman, but not a star.

In summation, Bangladesh is clearly the best bowling attack in the world.

well crickets not all about batting, you gotta be able to bowl as well

it also helps if you face the best bowlers in the nets (and domestic cricket), no-one else is ever as good :P, therefore aussie batsmen will are confident against test and ODI bowling attacks

Yes well you do have Tendulkar and No one is saying M. Clark will be as good as him. But apart form Tendulkar our batting line up kicks your arse.

*cough* Dravid *cough*

Eclipse, you seem to have forgotten that your middle order currently includes Lehmann and Waugh.

Do you want to tell me just what Steve Waugh has done recently for you to oh-so-subtlety denigrate him so?

So it's still a stronger batting order we have 3 bastman in the top 6 in the world right now hayden & Ponting ranked 1 & 2 Respectivly were as India only have Tendulkar.

We still have Martyn to come back as well.

I dont see any evidence to really suggest Waugh is on the decline his form since the Ashes has been outstanding. having said the it's time he went out on a high IMO.

Ganguly ?? really I doubt it in Test cricket he has avraged about 35 in the last 3 years.

I would just like to say that Dravid and Ganguly have not scored a great many runs outside the subcontinent.
Dravid had a terrible time of it on their last tour of Australia, and Ganguly wasn't far behind him.

Only Tendulkar looked like the player he is at home in India, and even then he was inconsistent. Most of the Indian players, although fine players in India, do not handle short, fast bowling on bouncy pitches.

Dravid has a terrific record outside. He used to average over 50 outside ASIA. It must have just dipped b'coz of that NZ series. He really only had one poor series to date and that was in AUS .

Yes I see Dravid's average is a spot over 53........very very good. I do remember him struggling against the Aussies in that series - perhaps if they played against good attacks more often it would come down!!! (just joking)

I actually like India's batting line-up.....2nd only to Australia's IMO. Sehwag, Ganguly, Laxman are all good players, Dravid and Tendulkar are class. Probably the thing that tips the scales in Australia's favour is Gilchrist at number 7. We have three bats who average over 50, Martyn who is very close to 50, and Langer at about 46.

You know the flipside to my comments about Dravid in Australia is that Ponting has scored no runs in India!

Shiv, most of the comments on here are joking comments since we've got to know each other fairly well.

Yes, but Robert Key will almost certainly not be playing when Freddie returns.
I don't understand why? Key is a batsman playing at five, Flintoff is an allrounder who will bat at six or seven (and was replaced in the side by McGrath). If anything I would hope Graham Thorpe can get back in. He's already proved to the selectors he's our best one day batsman, and has consistently proved to be our best FC/test batsman.

Key and Harmison should have been replaced before the Zimbabwe series to give a couple of players experience before South Africa arrived. My hope is that due to injures, they were kept on and given another chance to impress, as a few players got a chance anyway, but that when Flintoff, Caddick, Hoggard and hopefully Thorpe return, those two will not be seen in England colours again. This is my theory.... :O

Flintoff comes in, McGrath (selected as a batsman who can bowl, NOT a direct Freddie replacement) goes to 5.

As for the bowling, like it or not, Harmison is a first choice pick, and considering his performances against Zim were easily as good as any of the ther bowlers used, there shouldn't be an argument about it.

Anderson, Flintoff, Giles and Harmison with one other, from the rest.
