Medium-pacers

So Eclipse Brett Lee never hit 160 then? If the speeds there were 10-15 kph excess like Marc says then that ball was under 150! Looked a lot faster than that don't you think?
10-15 kph is probably a slight exaduration

my guess is that ball in Australia would have been about 155-157 kph.

A slight exaggeration?! 157 kph makes the difference 3. Marc thinks it's 5 times as much!

What role do medium-pacers have in a world class pace attack? If you look at some of the most effective pace attacks of today, nobody bowls medium pace. In the Australian pace attack in full strength, you have Glenn McGrath, who bowls at a decent pace and keeps a good line and length. There's Jason Gillespie, who bowls faster and induces a lot of variations in his bowling. Brett Lee bowls with a lot of pace. A pace attack which has to take wickets has to have at least 1 fast bowler.

Shame he doesn't take wickets though (in tests).
When he does, he takes them in bulk. He blew the Indians away in his debut series. He then was in awful form in the series v/s Pak and was dropped- "Go back to NSW and take wickets for them". And he did- 21 in 2 matches. He then rattled the England top order in Perth, then had a good ODI series after that. He played a crucial role in the World Cup victory. Does he not take enough wickets?

Yeah surely it's the conditions or the ball, or the guns were tampered with, anything, it's impossible that Indian bowlers would figure among the top in the pace stakes.

Except I said EVERY bowler, because it was every bowler, hence using those as examples of bowlers being quick kind of ignore the rest of a bowler's career.

Alternatively as Eclipse said 3-5 and I said 10-15, that'll be twice, nowhere near 5, but you seem to like to use extremes to back your "points"

ODIs are a different game to Tests. I won't deny that Lee is effective in ODIs, but ni Tests, he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the national side.

sami has been outpacing shoaib of late.

he clocked 158kph against india with the speed guns working fine.

even the indians would admit that only shoaib and brett lee are faster than him.

I agree . Sami is very under rated when it comes to pace.

people say fast ,and others say Shoaib , Lee and Bond. Sami is seldom mentioned.

Oh? And how much do you know about the rest of the Indian bowlers careers, except looking at their cricinfo stats page? 8-)
