McGrath vs Imran (on flat pitches)

Who was the better test bowler on flat pitches against high quality batsmen?

Ok so you support McGrath on the basis that the flat pitches still have bounce and seam for him to exploit.

Whereas I support Imran and a few others on the basis that they still have the pace and swing to occasionally take the pitch out of the equation.

I think that's our difference.
No real difference in philosophy really, nothing beats real pace on such tracks.

I've just seen McGrath find alternative ways to do it.

Sooo you've never used the flat wicket argument as a point of distinction between Ambrose and McGrath for example??
I don't deny McGrath had less receptive pitches at home in the 2000s compared to the 90s, but just that as long as there was bounce in the wicket he could still be effective since he didn't rely much on lateral movement.

On slower abrasive wickets - Imran

On flat seamy road - McGrath

On both above - Bumrah :D
Bumrah barely bolwed on such wickets Tbh.
Sydney 2021 , ENG vs Ind last test match pitch (2021/22 ) where eng chased 370+ against bumrah and co .
I don't think bumrah has played anymore matches on flat pitches (may be I forgot about few matches on home pitches).
