I think batsmen of Sobers’ caliber have been more common than bowlers of caliber of Marshall’s..

Hence, voting for Marshall..

That may be because there are just more batsmen than bowlers and there are only 2-3 in the Sobers class.

Marshall and McGrath are certainly in the same class.

You were complaining about Pakistani umpires. The two umpires in that game were Indian. Just admit you made a mistake rather than digging in.
I didn't make any mistakes the umpiring from that series particularly the 3rd test left a lot to be desired. You just assume you know better than some of us who actually followed the series. Anyway, I'm not getting into a back and forth with you again.

Always frustrating when posters don't fess up to obvious errors that we all can read.

Nearly won us the 3rd and deciding test but for weather (again) and interesting Pakistan umpiring .
The two umpires for that test were neutral ones from India.

My mistake, they were Indian still doesn't stop the umpiring from the 3rd test especially from being trash. Close lbws not being given, time wasting etc. If you followed the same match i did and know better, please enlighten me/us...

Marshall & McGrath are not in the same class.

McGrath’s record against the second best team of his era(after Aus) isn’t great - Avg of 27.3 in 17 Tests

McGrath has not been a big match winner in Asian pitches - Just 1 5-Fer in 32 innings.

One could make an argument that Maco had a shorter time at the top or had excellent support

McGrath is one of the all time greats and Top 3 bowlers but his record isn’t perfect by any means

Shorter time yes but McGrath also had great support imo: Warne, Gillespie, Fleming, Macgill and Reifel. Not as great as Maco but still great support.
