Because it isn't a "major" tournament.Just a Q why isn't this thread a sticky? Its awful hard work to have to dig it up everytime there is a match
In the longer version, Zimbabwe is far ahead of those associate countries, there would not be any contest for the championship if they were included in the IC.I feel Zimbabwe should have been included in the Present Intercontinental Cup... It would have meen good practise for them as well as other teams...
A Zim Select side, pretty much the best side they could produce was not much better than a weakened Kenya side earlier this year. I think they would find the going tough in the away games and would probably fit in well with the top 3 or 4 associates. I think they should definitely have to prove themselves against the top Associates before they are allowed back into the Test arena. In the longer version, Zimbabwe is far ahead of those associate countries, there would not be any contest for the championship if they were included in the IC.
Odhiambo is being groomed as an all rounder in the team and has been used up the order on more than one occasion. Luseno is in the team to give some raw pace - it may work, it may not, but he did enough in the Logan Cup to warrant another chance. Stacking a team with batsmen would do no good if you cannot get the opposition out twice. I think this is a pretty well balanced team with the only question being the match fitness of the Swamibapa players.Kenya played four pacers on a Gymkhana wicket !!! That's simply being wasteful. They should have included another one or two batsmen in places of Luseno and Odhiambo.
Corington? He got dropped after a string of poor matches.Good to see Odoyo get his first 100, he's waited a long time for that. He won't mind that it was against a below-strength attack. What happened to the dreadlocked plumber, has he retired now?
