Yeah credit to Cricket Kenya for actually giving some of these players a go. As a Kenyan fan I hope Luseno can take this second shot at redemption as it were and get in the wickets. Anyway the action starts tomorrow morning ad some of us can't wait

Intercontinental Cup latest

And Canada are 121/5 at lunch with Jimmy Kamande ripping right through the top order bagging four wickets. Varaiya also gets a wicket as Kenya elect to go with Luseno, Obanda and Odhiambo ahead of Elijah Otieno, Lameck Onyango and Tony Suji

Got to love the fact that Canada's lower order is better then their top and middle order. Don't know why Dhaniram just doesn't bat himself in the top order. He is clearly their best batsmen on show here.

Canada battle to 262/9 and the first two wickets to fall to pacemen today go to Odoyo and Odhiambo

I feel Zimbabwe should have been included in the Present Intercontinental Cup... It would have meen good practise for them as well as other teams...

But then it would be very compicated as Scotland indicated they might not be very willing to go to Zimbabwe to play.

Anyway having lost Ouma in the very first ball of the innings Kenya finish on 8/1

Just a Q why isn't this thread a sticky? Its awful hard work to have to dig it up everytime there is a match

Kenya played four pacers on a Gymkhana wicket !!! That's simply being wasteful. They should have included another one or two batsmen in places of Luseno and Odhiambo.

In the longer version, Zimbabwe is far ahead of those associate countries, there would not be any contest for the championship if they were included in the IC.

Canada 263
S Dhaniram 78, U Bhatti 57
JK Kamande 4-56, H Varaiya 2-47

Kenya 164-3
A Obanda 83, DO Obuya 56*

Kenya should score 300 plus and then put the pressure back on Canada. Picking a Steve Tikolo century.

A Zim Select side, pretty much the best side they could produce was not much better than a weakened Kenya side earlier this year. I think they would find the going tough in the away games and would probably fit in well with the top 3 or 4 associates. I think they should definitely have to prove themselves against the top Associates before they are allowed back into the Test arena.

Odhiambo is being groomed as an all rounder in the team and has been used up the order on more than one occasion. Luseno is in the team to give some raw pace - it may work, it may not, but he did enough in the Logan Cup to warrant another chance. Stacking a team with batsmen would do no good if you cannot get the opposition out twice. I think this is a pretty well balanced team with the only question being the match fitness of the Swamibapa players.

Century for Odoyo - his top first Class score to date.
Kenya definitely in the driving seat going into day 3.

Good to see Odoyo get his first 100, he's waited a long time for that. He won't mind that it was against a below-strength attack. What happened to the dreadlocked plumber, has he retired now?

Corington? He got dropped after a string of poor matches.

poor lad:laugh:

Anyway cynicism aside I think its a little worrying Tikolo hasn't racked up a big score in a while
