you know there is something in me that's really pissed off that an abandonment scores more points than a rain affected draw. Their was never a chance of a result in the Ire/Can match so that means we've been penalised for being slightly less rainy that Scotland.

With Kenya and Namibia yet to play fairly easy matches against Netherlands and Bermuda that puts Ireland at a huge disadvantage having to potentially gain 25 points from the two matches in Kenya and Namibia to get to the Final.

I kinda noticed it too LOL.

Kenya in charge in the Netherlands...

According to the cricinfo scorecard Elijha Otieno was unable to finish one of his overs. Hope its not because of a serious injury.

No more word on this. Although with Odoyo, Ongondo and Luseno steaming in, this woudl still be a good attack with the 3 spinners still there if needed.

Great result from Kenya means that Ireland must get points from both their last two games if they are going to overtake us for a finals berth. It would be good to see them at least get first innings against Namibia so that whoever wins in Nairobi goes through.

Final stages of the marathon 2007-08 competition starting today ... interesting match between Namibia and Ireland. Four days are allowed for these matches but it's unlikely that they'll be needed here, with 25 wickets falling on the first day. Bad day for the O'Brien brothers, whose match is already over with eight runs accrued from their four innings.

Namibia 69-6 in pursuit of 115. So it looks as if the whole match will be completed in under five sessions. Pity really, I'd have liked to see it go the distance as it helped to fill the gap before the Bangalore Test.

Kola Burger is Namibia's secret weapon at number 11 (16 off five balls in the first innings). Somewhat surprised to see him there as I seem to recall he top-scored in each innings in an earlier match.

Namibia being slightly bizzarre 91/6 and chugging along at near 5 an over. Would be sad for Ireland to fall short of the final like this

Yes, amazing match - and a pity it didn't make it onto Cricinfo's main page, when Hong Kong v Italy did. This one was slightly more significant I'd have said.

Last qualifying game starts in Nairobi on the 11th - Kenya v Ireland.

Seren Waters a shock selection in Kenya's XV for the match against Ireland. No place for Ragehb Aga despite the end of the County championship making him available, or Collins Obuya whom I suspect may still be carrying a knee injury.

Really Kenya need to make their 'A' team a more permanent fixture instead of throwing in a kid who hasn't even featured in the u19s at international level.
