India Vs. Bangladesh 2nd ODI
India Vs. Bangladesh 2nd ODI
Is 49 (Kaif) considered not to be soild these days? He was only 8 runs off the topscore.Pratyush said:The regulars :-
Sehwag - O
Ganguly - 22
Yuvraj - 4
Kaif - 49
Zaheer - 53/2 (mediocre considering it was versus Bangladesh)
No solid performance from any of the 5 seniors.
Certainly more was expected of a senior member of the side playing an inning when most of the other important players had been out by then.Mr Mxyzptlk said:Is 49 (Kaif) considered not to be soild these days? He was only 8 runs off the topscore.
And yet he still did better than all the other senior players as well as all but one of the juniors.Pratyush said:Certainly more was expected of a senior member of the side playing an inning when most of the other important players had been out by then.
It was an average performance now Liam. Not a solid one. Certainly not in the situation he was batting in.Mr Mxyzptlk said:And yet he still did better than all the other senior players as well as all but one of the juniors.
Joginder Sharma - 51/0 (poor)
Kartik - 43/2 (good)
Agarkar - 31/2
Dhoni - 12
The regulars didnt exactly show they were more mature than the side shows in THAT particular match though.Arjun said:And Badani? What's the reason? More TN players in the side? He gets set, a score of 30+, and throws his wicket away. When wickets start falling, he starts blocking, and refuses several regulation singles. This is why the Indians have never won a one-day tournament in which he has figured. Whatever he can do, Yuvraj can do better, if he's more focussed. The Pied Piper of Punjab is temperamental, but is more effective than Badani any day.
- Sharma batted intelligently, and almost won that match- but for early dismissals of the top six.
- Karthik bowled negative, overstepped too often, and bowled several six-balls.
- Agarkar bowled utter rubbish after the 200th wicket, and his irresponsible shot left the side in deep trouble. It is shocking to see him get a recall so often.
- Dhoni struggles against the old ball.
Thats not bad. I would do minor tinkering to that.honestbharani said:I think the criteria that SJS laid out was the best one to follow while picking a side..... And going by that, I have come up with the following team:
Sachin
Sehwag
Kaif
Dravid
Yuvraj
Badani
Dhoni (wk)
Agarkar
Pathan/Balaji
Harbhajan
Zaheer
I honestly don't think this side would be bad.... And if neither Pathan and Balaji develop the variety that is so indispensible in ODIs, they can be swapped for another new seamer who has the variety.
Mongia, Karthik and Agarkar are regulars in comparison with three others in that side.Pratyush said:The regulars didnt exactly show they were more mature than the side shows in THAT particular match though.
WATCH IT!!!!!vvk said:MONGIA needs to be shot and put to dead. This guy has been a pathetic failure every time he's been called upon.
Why not Badani ? Why do you want Powar ? More Mumbai players in the side ?Arjun said:And Badani? What's the reason? More TN players in the side? Come on DM.Deja moo said:Why not Badani ? Why do you want Powar ? More Mumbai players in the side ?
You say Badani blocks singles when wickets fall, so does Yuvraj. India might never have won a tournament with Badani in the side. And how many have they won with Yuvraj in the side ? one ? And if you think Yuvraj can do things better than Badani, I guess hes been just warming up for the last 100 games, eh ? Theres a limit to ones patience. There was a period after Yuvrajs second coming into the side when he notched up useful half centuries regularly. Now hes almost turned full circle and is asking to be dropped again.
One reason to chose Badani - cricketer with ***iest wife in the countryDeja moo said:Why not Badani ? Why do you want Powar ? More Mumbai players in the side ?

Vajpayee has a ***y wife ?Pratyush said:One reason to chose Badani - cricketer with ***iest wife in the country
More Badani = more airspace of Mrs. Badani on television.
Vajpayee has a wife ???Deja moo said:Vajpayee has a ***y wife ?
I meant Badani resembles Vajpayee with the chin structure..SJS said:Vajpayee has a wife ???
