Yeah an ODI WC just is a chunkier piece of meat and feels like a proper, densely concentrated campaign. To win one in Aus would be the pinnacle of Indian cricketing achievement IMO, not to disregard the Test wins there of course.

Cricket world isn't just tests tbf. Vast majority crave for world cup trophies. So winning an ODI WC in 2027 or in 2031 (after 16 or 20 long years) will be hube. The joy and celebrations will be unprecedented. Meanwhile winning another series in Australia will be amazing but it will pale in comparison to the joy of winning a WC, especially given what happened in 2023.

Def would give up the t20 World Cup to win the next test series in Aus?

Has any side won five test series in a row against Aus in history? Or three in a row in Aus?

Has any side before won four which is India’s current streak?

Nah - everything else is pyjama cricket

India winning a third time in a row in Australia is such an unprecedented achievement that along with the home record it establishes this Indian test side as one of the ATGs.

But it's not gonna happen. You know it deep down and I know it deep down. So I am just hoping that team India doesn't make a fool out of themselves this time and get thrashed given the difficult scheduling.

Both West Indies and South Africa have won 3 away series in a row in Australia before.

West Indies won 5 series in a row against Australia. 3 of those series were in Aus and 2 in WI.

So india can tie the great West Indies side - considered by many to be the greatest cricket team in history - by winning in Australia? And that’s not the greatest achievement in Indian cricket history?????

That team was undefeated against Australia for 8 series in a row. They happened to win 7 of those series, including 4 series wins in Aus. (and 1 drawn)

But yeah 3 in a row would be huge though very unlikely to be very honest with you. Winning a 5 match series is really hard. I would be happy if India can win 2 tests.

Yeah it would be very hard. Much harder than any WC. That’s why it’s such an achievement. This would be the fifth. Let alone eight undefeated.
