Its a toss up really. There are Kaif and Yuvraj on the bench and they can replace anyone in the middle order.Deja moo said:Rayudu ahead of Kaif ?
Rayudu is fast turning into Yuvraj...giving his wicket away when everyone knows he can bat well . Only difference being that Yuvraj has a definite weakness against spin and the ball outside off stump , while Rayudu just throws away his wicket for the heck of it .( Plus the fact that he hasnt faced any good fast bowling yet in his career)

Sriram/Jadhav to replace either opener and so on.
I just put Ambathi to get some fresh blood in and give these guys (Kaif and Yuvraj) a bit of a shake up
Well he has a chance in this test. I agree he has the stuff to make. Cool head and plays within his limits unlike Yuvraj.Deja moo said:IMO, Kaifs career is following the path Damien Martyns took. It has been 3 years since Kaif played a test, and I think Indian Test cricket needs the stability he provides.
to put ponting, hayden and even lloyd ahead of dravid in the great bracket is an insult to dravids abilities.....Arjun said:In the situations where the Indians found themselvesi n Bangalore, only a great player could rescue them. Had there been a Viv Richards, Clive Lloyd, Ricky Ponting or Matthew Hayden, they wouldn't just occupy the crease- they'd play more positively.
Isn't the "drop Patel" movement based largely on the quite logical view that 'keepers should be picked based on how good they are behind the stumps, (almost) regardless of batting ability?Arjun said:What do all of you think of Mahen Dhoni? There hae been three viewers on NDTV who want him in the Indian team. He's a lot taller than most wicketkeepers who have played for India (almost 6' or 6'1"), hits the ball quite hard, and has an average of 53 in limited overs matches. His keeping is still a bit suspect- very similar to that of Vijay Dahiya. After this series, he should get into the team.
I wouldn't be so sure of that.tooextracool said:to put ponting, hayden and even lloyd ahead of dravid in the great bracket is an insult to dravids abilities.....

The Indian team already has a VERY suspect keeper (now a no-hoper) as well as a no-hoper keeper in ODi's for only one reason- they can bat better than those who can actually keep. That said, Dhoni is as good a keeper as Dahiya, and both are a lot better than Patel. Ideally, Nayan Mongia or at least Dinesh Karthik should be wicketkeeping in the Indian team.marc71178 said:So pick a suspect keeper based on his batting?
Is he really going to average more than the mid-30s?
i would be......ponting isnt great unless he performs in india, hayden just isnt great yet although he seems to be well on his way to doing so(definetly not as good as dravid) and no one would say that lloyd was a better player than dravid is.marc71178 said:I wouldn't be so sure of that.
Sriram is 28.Arjun said:Sriram's really, really good. e has good innings temperament, and he is very professional, and even though he's 31,
Sorry. But players of those ages don't stand a good chance of making the team, even if they're good enough to make the best Indian team at that time.Spetsnatz said:Sriram is 28.
