God, I'm not looking forward to the boring middle overs of the Australia vs. WI Twenty20. May just change the channel from overs 6-16

Yeah, Australia have picked bits-and-pieces players like Hopes and Dave Hussey to fill up those overs, while Chanderpaul will just be knocking them around during that period before the assault at the death... :p

I fancy Australia for the tournament. Or at least, i did before Symonds went home, and now I've got money on them so it's too late to change my mind. Looked imperious in the warm-ups. I'd have sent the Windies in though.

Australia earned the victory for sure, would never question it. The way it ended left a poor taste in the mouth though

Made me cringe when Ross Taylor came out.

"Ross Taylor. Right Handed Bat. Favourite Shot - Slog Sweep"

I think that was Daan Van Bunge's favourite shot too.

It's T20 so it's OK. If he was introduced that way in a test, I'd wrap his own bat around his head.

Jesse Ryders innings was ripper, Taylor did well to see it home as well.

Terrible bowling though, Butler is the only one to hold his head high.

Ryder shouldn't of bowled, Scotland were just hacking it, and someone like Nathan McCullum would of done a decent job and picked up a few if his brother wasnt too scared to bowl him.

Oram holds two of the top five Twenty20 International scores for New Zealand and both of them came from #7 where it's been historically extremely different to make a significant score.

He also bowled really well in the warmups.

Ha ha, though to be fair (as Profernity said) it's only T20. He rarely plays slog shots in tests (unless playing the spinners), he's much classier to watch in that format. The leg clip (aka front-foot leg glance) or the pull would probably be his favourite shot in tests. He' plays both well.

My boys done well! Lol

I'm hoping Ryder has a good tournament after the IPL in which no way showcased his ability.

Well, to be fair at 7 overs no-one will really show to be a good bowler cos batsmen throw caution to the wind. Only the really top level bowlers would stand out- I'm talking about Murali, Warne, McGrath etc at peak so it's hard to say how good/bad the Kiwi bowling is.

Nah, Oram is OK at T20, just not at S7.

Just like Guptil, he is a slow starter.
He's just had a poor run of form. Probably should have gotten a bat, like Guptil. I'd rather have Styris/McGlashan in there in such a reduced match.

After donning the life jacket and manning the lifeboats I am left to wonder is it too late to get back on the boat?

Yes IMO.

Rossco was hitting some great sixes though, glad I managed to watch our innings.

As well as Edwards and Taylor nailing Australia, then later Gayle going mad.

Who would you guys leave out for the next game against South Africa to make way for Vettori and possibly Mills?

I'd be tempted to leave Nathan McCullum in there, as I reckon we've got a better chance of keeping the runs down against SA with our spinners than our seamers.

I'd personally bring in Mills for O'Brien and Vettori for Franklin or even Oram.

Na would leave Franklin in the team. Unlike Oram can actually bat in T20 and is a better bowler too so Vettori should take his place.

The Mills O'Brien and Butler are fighting for the two spots, so really it depends who is the best currently. That would probably mean a combination of Mills and Butler.
