Everytime Willey got a chance to bat he was utterly rubbish. Always tried to smash the ball too hard and inevitable got out.
I've seen a lot of his career and he seemed pretty blatantly one of those bowling "all-rounders" that can go big with the bat at lower levels but clearly not up to it at international level.

County Cricket especially for some reason has a lot of this. Ian Harvey used to be a proper bat in county cricket. And there were the plethora of 90s English all-rounders that were dog**** but guns in county cricket

So basically he's a lower-grade bully IMO

Beware of Australia. IPL teams paid Cummins and Green A$6.8 million but they are only bench warmers in first WC game 😀

Oman well on top especially with Australia's weak 5th bowlers (Maxwell/Marsh/Head). Easy 2 points for the men from Muscat.

Fielding in the back-end was mixed. Where gonna win anyway, but if we caught better could have rolled them for <100 and gotten a big NRR boost.

Haven’t taken much notice of the tourney but if Oz & the Poms don’t qualify then they should sack the lot

If Scotland beat Namibia and Australia beat England, then England will be languishing in 4th place with only 1 point at the half-way mark 😀

Namibia used to have a few reasonable Saffers playing for them so shouldn’t be terrible

Btw, Oman is a great country and a trip there is thoroughly recommended

Inland has rolling sand dunes like Lawrence of Arabia, coast is like the face of the moon with cliffs facing the ocean which is home to some of the most diverse marine life in the world and the people are brilliant

MMarsh/Bison/Titta seems like a great guy. Dunno if he’ll be a good captain though seems kinda goofy.

It will also mean that Aus could lose to Scotland (in their final game) and both those 2 would go through.

It seems that out and out pace is not the answer on these pitches, the England attack in the opening game was all wrong. Hope to see Topley and Curran for Wood and Jordan against Aus.
