it's just occurred to me the 2003-2007 Australian ODI side could have been even more OP if they bowled out Lee before the 35th and used McGrath, Bracken, Gillespie, Kasprowicz et al at the death instead.

Lee is definitely the worst of the ODI greats at death bowling that I can think of in six seconds of thought.
Haha the amount of runs he conceded off snicks to third man in the last five overs was unreal.

Unless you are picking Symonds in the top 6 (probably 5), why pick him? No 7s don't bat much in ODIs anyway, and he only played 38 ODIs at 7 at an average of 21. You might as well pick a better bowler such as Klusener, Kapil, Flintoff, Imran, Hadlee, Oram etc. Or Chris Harris if you also want another gun fielder (although Viv, Ponting, and AB were 3 guns in the field).

Haha people have had this argument with Red at least 1000 times. He just thinks Symonds was one of the greatest bowlers of all time for some reason.

Aussie ATG side would challenge PFK's team, as would a best of the rest:

Gilchrist (wk)
Watson
Ponting
Jones
Symonds
Bevan
Hussey
Warne
Starc
Bracken
McGrath

Best of the rest (no Aussies):

Bairstow
Jayasuriya
Babar Azam
R Taylor
Abbas
Buttler (wk)
Klusener
Vaas
Bond
Donald
Murali

Great side on paper, but no Aussies (unless you put McGrath in) and they knew how to win World Cups.
Against far inferior teams ?

For example, If india Had Bumra and Dhoni in 2003 WC, Australia's chances will be very less.

Also Dhoni, Viv, Garner, Akram, Sachin, Kohli, Kapil.. All knows how to win WCs.

How is this Wasim? McGrath took more wickets per innings, at a better Average and better Strike Rate and Economy Rate. Has more 5 wicket hauls. Counters wining 1 world cup and finalist in 2 others by winning 3 world cups and a finalist in 1. McGrath is easily the best ODI bowler. Wasim is just a comparative fart sniffer.
