To be fair, I never said all Aussies knew what the term meant. I simply suggested that enough know the term to constitute a minority of idiots at a cricket match.
To be fair I did use the word suggesting :p

I knew what it meant but only because I have quite a few South African mates. I don't remember it from any of the Lethal Weapon movies and I have seen them all, although it was a long time ago.

As far as I know a joke is something everyone finds funny. But I'll forgive you unconditionally in this instance as I have always enjoyed your posts and IMO one of the best posters on this forum, even if I don't always agree with you. :)
Cheers, sorry if I offended you.

Tbh I could not care less what the rest of the world think. If they think the whole country is racist because of a silly few, well the problem is theirs and not mine.

I bring my kids up not to be racist and if anyone says anything of a racist nature to Monty during the series with in ear shot of myself, then they will cop a mouthfull.

Besides it may give the press something else to focus on instead of the flogging the English are going to cop.
You might not care but I do as I sure many others both on this forum and throughout the country care about the negative image that has been created, mostly deserved, some not. It is an international game now and there is no more room for this sort of behaviour at the cricket. And I wish we could pride ourselves on having the best crowds, the most welcoming crowds in the world. So it does matter what the rest of the world think, as with most international issues and matters.

I feel if people think the whole country is racist, then they are the ones being narrow minded and a little naive. Anyway I try not to sweat the small stuff.

With a population of 20 million, most of whom can afford to go to the cricket, surely we will have some idiot there sooner or later. If the media want to find a story they will.

I agree. Especially in relation to my country, too. People seem to believe apartheid was created in my country, but that is not true. Only the WORD apartheid was. The deed was going on long before South Africa was even discovered in various countries all over the world. It was just called something else.

Sorry Fraz - I DO like your posts, but you're being a little too vague there for me to know what point you're trying to make? Are you saying that the members of this forum from a particular country have been disparaging towards you in the past?
As Slow Love mentioned "the few schmuks" , And they just destroy the atmosphere otherwise in a decent and a literate world there is nothing like that . Like you may have seen in the past that a few people make a pack and follow people around and if some one dare makes any thread then they just destroy the first full page and make hidden racist comments . I can't just point out any one . It's just SOME individuals . And these SOME are every where and in case of Pakistan and India these SOME calculate up to 500 times more (Population wise). Again I love this place because I have seen that rotten individuals eventualy join in, in a positive way or just get out eventualy....
I don't think that Smith was absolutely right but he may have a point which should be percieved in a way by taking stronger measures against those few idiots ....

I dont think everytime someone says ' Norway is liberal' or 'Australia is racist', they are talking about every single person in the country- more like what the cultural slant is, what the pulse of the nation is. To be honest, Australia does a racially backward nation - though by no means is it the only one.
Frankly, as far as racial superiorist mentality goes, i'd say America, Argentina and some of the gulf countries are just about worst of the lot.

@CC - non-believer does not necessarily mean Kaffir in Arabic, Kaffir is a much more extreme word than non-believer.
From what i am told, its meaning isnt very extreme but its usage is.
