i wouldnt have called that a sitter to be honest, it was flying to trescothink at first slip, he should have left it, had he taken it it would have been a great catch, instead what should have been an easy take at slip ended up going for 4 runs.

I don't think I'm the only one who will have no faith in Read after the infamous "ducking the yorker" incident.

anthony mgcrath has a better test match bowling and batting average than andrew flintoff and all the rest of the england bowlers so why not pick him as well?
anything against zimbabwe doesnt and never will count.

read should be playing in ODIs period.
as far as tests are concerned, read should only be in the side, if and only if hes managed to improve his footwork since his last test match stint.

Not only that but the way he batted in the West Indies was very poor. As I have said before England can not bring in read whilst playing the five bowlers as Read is not, and don't think ever will be a test match number 7. I still think Jones should be dropped, havn't seen mutch of Prior so can't really comment I personally would bring in Foster.

I saw him bat today at Lords.

He looked good and scored boundaries at a good rate but then got himself out in the 30's I think.

His style sort of reminded me of Jones actually.

although jones is also seeming as if he is finding form with the bat now. well 2 reasonable innings anyway.

he wasnt really out of form ITFP. he just tried to find different ways to get himself out every game.

well after todays performance regardless of the fact that england won the knives are going to be out for geraint jones again, despite some good takes his missed stumpings and dropped catch means that his performance in the first innings with the bat might save him from being axed from the side for the next test....however after the next test is over i think that the selectors will turn back to read for the tour of pakistan....
